Didn’t see this called out in any other threads in detail but will delete if this is duplicative.
I feel like the Giants have not been able to effectively and consistently leverage the screen game since the Tiki Barber days and have not been able to defend it since the Antonio Pierce days. It’s just one game but yesterday I thought they were able to do both very effectively. There were no big hitters but they were able to keep the pass rush honest with some effective screens that moved the chains and picked up some nice chunks of yardage. Usually, Jones seems panicky and the timing is off. But even on a couple that seemed a little broken, he stayed calm and got the ball to his receiver. On defense, there were a couple times it looked like screens were going to go for big yardage with blockers out in front but the defense was able to limit the gains. I’ve been yelling at the TV for years about why other teams can kill us with screens but we can’t run one to save our lives. Yesterday was the first time in a long time where I felt like it was the other team feeling that way.
At lower levels, just getting the ball out there in space is enough.
NFL -you need all the blockers, and that's tough to time.
I was pleasantly surprised.
Giants definitely had success with the 2 or 3 screens they ran this week I would expect to see a couple against Dallas since Parsons doesn't seem to react to them well.
Hope our boy keeps it up
