But he appears to have an instinct for playing the game of football at its absolute zenith. It is very rare to see these two qualities in a player, especially in his first year. He is frankly playing at a level as a rookie that I have only seen once before in my half century of following this franchise. And that was the greatest defensive player in NFL history in 1981.
Nabers may very well end up being the best player selected in the 2024 draft.
sometimes I wonder if some of us get different versions of the same game. Wasn’t perfect but who is?! DJ played a very good game and is a big reason why we won. That’s the job of an NFL QB.

Under 6', Under 300 lbs as a DT is how.
RE: watching the game live i didnt realize how much pressure jones faced
this was a really quality offensive performance on the road.
If you re-watch the game, Andrew Thomas had issues. Of course, he was playing against a top-notch opponent.
yes he did. garrett is as good as anyone in the game. in true pass sets PFF graded him a 5 (out of 100). 16 sets, 6 pressures allowed. and remember he had been their highest graded pass protector before facing garrett!
of how many guys Dexter Lawrence has injured trying to block him. It's one thing to have Aaron Donald run right past you. Dexter crushes you.
This point needs to be drilled into heads and not only because of how good Dex is, but I insist that this NYG team is on the right side of trench health because the Giants have guys built for NFL trench warfare. We are finally causing the injuries rather than suffering them. Just a theory but I believe the poorly built DLs and OLs of the NFL get hurt more because they are getting their asses kicked. It aint just bad luck. The Giants have tough and talented players up front now. Bout friggin time.
I reserve the right to change my tune by Friday morning but for now, first 3 games we look fine up front.
I agree with you. No one will ever compare to LT but Nabers, if he can stay healthy, has the on field and off field talent and intangibles to change the direction of the Giants. The QB still needs to raise his level to unlock everything Nabers can do.

The thing that struck me most about LT, in addition to his unmatched talent, was that as a rookie he instantly elevated an already elite linebacker corps as well as the entire defense. And even the offense began playing with a swagger that was well beyond its talent. And then their first Super Bowl Era playoff appearance and win - in his very first year.
Not saying that Nabers is in that league, but he will no doubt elevate everyone around him, including the quarterback. But imagine Nabers with an elite quarterback? Someone who doesn't repeatedly stare him down or constantly force him to make acrobatic catches in ways that expose his body to injury. The sky's the limit with this kid...

Ask yourself how many points the Giants would have scored with prime Eli playing on Sunday. Be honest with yourself.
Now come back and tell me why, because it is Daniel Jones, we feel the need to label a very average day as "very good"? He wasn't very good, he was okay to good in the first half and below average in the second half. Stop moving the bar.

I'm not here to play hypothetical games. But who's moving the bar here? Football games are NOT linear man. The Cleveland Browns players and coaches get paid too!
They made adjustments at the half-time or didn't you notice Nabers was being covered by Denzel Ward instead of Newsome? Or that the play-calling clearly changed due to field position being flipped in the 2nd half. At the end of the day, DJ played a clean made some very good reads and throws, and missed some deep ones.
You can disagree that's cool too. But the metrics for playing NfL QB agree with me. So who's changing the bar here really?!

I'd also like to see this stat. I think you'd come to find its higher than any player in the NFL.
Unfortunately if also seemed to happen during camp when our iOLs all seemed to have shoulder and rib injuries
Yup. I said that a few times here IE Schmitz. He's had shoulder injuries since he got here. Imagine walking into the NFL and the very first thing you have to do is block a prime Dexter Lawrence every day in practice, including all your 1on1 reps.
It will either kill him, or make him an excellent C.

I noticed on the play Jones is flushed and throws it oob if you look at Nabers he looks like he points out of bounds. Like, he’s helping his QB who’s under duress to not force it. (ML is doubled & seems like his route had broken off by then.)

Take off your dunce hat bro. You sound like the clown here. That’s a good defense and he played well. Period. Save the theatrics.

wherever Dexter goes, 2 OL go with him. And the Giants just stunt guys through the vacated area. There's nothing you can do.

He was awesome in the pocket yesterday. I thought he was completely shot mentally after the Vikings but he really took on the challenge since.

Their RT can give up pressure and would like to see Burns be able to have Martin focus on the outside vs Dex.
Would be nice to be able to put some pressure on Dak

Dan got clobbered on the TD pass but also on the big 1st down pick up.. kid is tough sob
