the fun begins. will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

$12 mil per is the speculation but for how long? He's 28. I didn't realize he was that old.

I just hope we can squeeze a cup out of you before you go...
I think this is going to be

a situation where this deal gets done at 11:59pm on June 30, 2025. I don't think Igor is going anywhere, but it does come back to the argument of, do you really need a highly paid goalie? We have seen several teams with goalies that wouldn't ever be considered elite (Murray, Niemi, Crawford, Hill, Binnington to name a few) win Cups because they were on teams that could score. Meanwhile, we've seen some Hall of Fame caliber goalies like Lundqvist, Price, Rinne, Luongo, Kiprusoff who retired without a Cup. It's such a hard balance, but ultimately, the Rangers will be a contender as long as Igor is at his best and that gives them a chance to ride a hot goalie any given year, so I say pay him.

Ok. Just get an average goalie who can get hot at the right time and better players. Yeah, because our formula has been working since 2006 or so.
It's going to be interesting to see what Drury does

to create cap space. NYR tends to hand out big deals and NMCs, and then they're scrambling predictably later on to create any flexibility. Eg, Trouba nearly traded. Who else might be on the block by next Summer, if this core doesn't deliver the cup.
