Cole, Rodon, Gil, Schmidt is a decent playoff rotation. I think Cortes was a Yankee Stadium option because of his home record. But I more viewed Cortes and Stroman as BP long relievers post season.
I agree with you but think Gil should come out the bullpen because he'd do better in a multi-inning role where he can let lose more than if he was trying to be a starter.
Stroman has playoff experience and I think he's an ok starter for a game, esp if the plan is only 3-4 innings unless he's lights out.
I believe that in his last 4 road starts Cortes has a sub 1.00 ERA. So the stadium vs. road splits aren't what they were for most of the season.
The way he's been pitching lately, I actually would have preferred that the Yanks started Cortez over Schmidt and maybe even Gil. But this would be a big loss, regardless of how the team planned to use him.

I jinxed it, I just posted on the game thread last night how amazed I was that 4 of our starters had pitched a full season
Get well soon Nestor, but I agree that if one has to go down, we’ll miss him the least. He’d be useful if he can go as a funky lefty to relieve a hard throwing righty in a long relief situation, or to be the sacrificial lamb and eat innings in a blowout loss to save the bullpen for the next game

O'Neill and Cone said Gil, because of his tendency to be "wild," is not a real BP option.
Yes he has 98 mph stuff, but he sometimes cannot control it and walks too many.
Must have had soreness after his last session.

Well if that is all, ok. Nice rest for him. I noticed he was reaching 94/95 last outing. Perhaps too much on that arm to reach that velocity.
Nestor to the IL, Potete called up. Maranacio claimed by the White Sox. Ouch.
