A lot more than BBI does. Good info on the Cowboys. Hard to pick against the the Cowboys when they have won 12 of 13 and DJ is something like 0-7 on Thursday night.
On defense I agree with Gruden and believe the Cowboys will overload the box to stop the run on the early downs. Double Nabors and try to make DJ beat them with the other guys. Can he? Could be a big game for Robinson. I think the Cowboys will do whatever they have to to stop the run even if it makes them vulnerable to the pass. I think they will press the receivers and challenge the Giants to throw downfield.
On offense they will try to take advantage of our injuries at CB. They usually can count on a couple PIs and defensive holding calls in addition to the passes they actually complete. IMO - Pass rush will be the key.
I certainly think we have a chance here, but have been let down too many times to truly believe.
- Two minutes of why history favors the Cowboys
- Ten minutes of complimentary comments on various Giants players
- Problems with the Dallas run defense
- Struggles of the Dallas offense
Feel better about the game after hearing this.
wow gruden used the word "love" a lot more than i expected
On scheme and play calling and more on talent and personal.
They loaded the box vs. Baltimore and just got beat, Baltimore went 2 TEs and a FB against 8 men in the box and got their ass kicked.
But in listening to Dex and Jones it feels like this team is going into Thursday night expecting not only to compete, but to win. It feels like the team is confident in their chances.
That was a very comprehensive preview. He knows personnel and matchups. That 21-personnel idea for the Dallas O is a very interesting idea. But I can't see McCarthy doing that.
I said it a few days ago, Beebe is going to be tested at C against Sexy. Dallas may have to overload help there.
BTW, Gruden used to have a show on ESPN where he would evaluate QB prospects in the upcoming draft. It was a terrific watch. He would get the guys on the whiteboard and really test them, and also go over their good and bad plays in college.
I'll never forget when he had Mahomes in for an interview. Gruden was telling Mahomes his arm talent was like nothing he had seen in a long time. And that he had a chance to be great if he could be patient and really learn the mental side of the game.

Well, he nailed that one...
those predraft specials were great, i remember him challenging some guys pretty directly on their weak points too.
gruden is the real deal. mayock was a bad gm and gruden still overcame that and had the raiders playing good ball even after all those years out of the game. under mcdaniels everything imploded pretty rapidly. some guys just know how to coach and he is one of them.
Was enjoying until he started talking about the line..
"And Thomas, whose their former 1st round pick from Georgia, is also getting better at left tackle"
Granted AT had a rough game on Sunday, but getting better? has he watched a game since he left the league? I'm guessing he's relying too much on interns to feed him info for these clips than actually watching tape.
the Giants will double Lamb. I don't know if they will, but I think it might not be a bad idea - at least on some downs.
I think they will often. He is a game wrecker but I also see a version of him that can wreck his own team if he gets frustrated. OBJ used to have the same issue. If they can get him twisted it will help us a lot.
If I were an opposing defensive coordinator I would double Nabers and let someone else beat us. Well we have Hyatt and WD17 Waddell who iare very capable along with a healthy Slay! I would also get the TE busy since we haven’t shown anyone what these 3 TEs can do when included in our offense.
This should be a fun game since we have tools in our tool box and a capable OL to give us time to pick the D bones!🤞🤞
It was some strange happenstance, out of the blue, that he had no control over.
Or
Maybe work email should just be work email.
lol nothing "happened to him". He used misogynistic and homophobic language repeatedly in emails. He did it to himself.
He apologized. Didn't need to lose his job.
Agree. Not condoning his emails but I wonder how many people would be squeaky clean if someone could access every email and all of their internet browsing history. Im guessing if everyone was scrutinized like that a lot more people would be out of work including many on this board. The guy screwed up. His life shouldn't be over because of it.
I think he is a good coach and commentator. I don’t think he ever gets a sniff at the Giants HC job but I do think he would be good at it and get the team back on track.

It was his work email.
You think I'm going to trust my billion dollar baby to someone who can't keep their work email professional?
It's easy to separate your work and home emails, and be professional in one, and as racist and homophobic a POS as you want in the other.
The bigger point is that there would be a media circus is he came here. There would be no reprieve. The journalists would be out for the big story, because he has given before.

I agree with him about the Giants injuries in the secondary being a big concern. Giants need to get the lead in this one early.
There are only 7 players in the league John Gruden doesn’t love.

He *really* wants to coach again lol

He's like a scout that gives you an overall details on each position group on both sides of the ball.

He showed his ass to the world.
What terrible thing happened to him other than getting a 10-year contract? Did he self-promote his way out of football?
