Just not a top option in this offense with two WRs that are clearly better than him.
Hyatt hasn’t developed (yet), they need Slayton right now. I think they really need to invest in another WR next offseason to pair with Nabers and Wan’dale.
slayton has gone back to inconsistent ways so that's not a loss
forgot Hodgins was on the PS. I was thinking more along the lines of Slayton's absence being an opportunity for Hyatt and BFW to step up. I'm good with elevating Hodgins
Time for a couple of disappointing third-round picks to step up.
Jalin Hyatt and Cor'Dale Flott: It's your night to shine on national TV. (Speaking of disappointing third-round picks, let's not push our luck and press Josh Ezeudu into action too.)
Glad to see Nick McCloud returning. They'll still need to elevate Green or Kelley. Maybe both.

Yeah, because what team need three good WRs. What a crazy idea that is. He’s not supposed to be a top option he’s our #3 WR and in that role one of the better #3 WRs in the league.
... actually annoyed with Slayton for helping us beat the Commanders and Eagles last year, thus costing us better position in the draft? (Or has whingeing for the sake of it just become endemic on BBI?) It wasn't Slayton who cost us the Commanders game THIS year. Players tend to have good days and bad days. We're not that far into the season yet.

did you miss his dropped 2 pt conversion and false start vs washington? or fumble week 1? or 2nd drop vs cleveland? he has 11 targets and 2 of them are drops.
Darius Slayton is the Rodney Danger Dangerfield of BBI
the safties are healthy. the #1 corner is healthy. The OL and RBs and QB are healthy. The #1 WR is too. So is the #2. And the #4. Get it the fuck done. Wear out that Dallas OL for once and ruin Dak's night early and often.

Nit picking is not smart. WRs drop balls. Are we shitting on Nabers for dropping the game 4th down pass vs DC? Didn't Nabers also drop a 2 pt conversion ball, too?
but this would be the ideal game to run 40+ times with RBs, Jones and jet-sweeps.
Control the clock to limit Dallas' possessions and slowly crush the big block of Dallas Swiss Cheese D.
Why don't you expect that to happen? I actually think we use a ton of RPO and run game tomorrow tbh. I think Dabs has had this in bag for this game, really haven't seen much of it.

Maybe you are right and Daboll will surprise me.
And it would be a pleasant surprise.

that injury has to be considered a big loss. He literally looks like one of the best players on D. Would've liked to have his physicality and run support vs. DAL.
I hope they aren't still reporting an achilles issue as a calf. Knock on wood.

Slayton is fine. Rather him than Hodgins.
nabers has 2 drops at the end of games and he has been criticized for them despite having been the entire offense. not quite sure where you see inconsistency. his 3 total in 37 targets is a less than 10% drop rate, half of slayton's.
there are only 13 other wide receivers in the entire NFL who have more than 1 drop on the season. add in his false start and muffed punt and it's clear why even slayton's most ardent defenders have been critical. he has made a lot of mistakes.
im not saying he should lose his job outright if he were healthy, but with an injured hand he is the last guy id be trotting out there. he has had a hard enough time catching the ball over his career going back to college with 2 good hands.

we saw it on that first drive vs dallas last year despite a much worse OL. gruden basically said he go right at them with duo. i think it'd be kind of malpractice to at least try to test dallas interior run D straight out of the gate. they just dont have stout run defenders so im not sure how schematically they can adjust to that. they had to trade for jordan phillips and now they have to play the guys he was better than bc he got hurt.

For me, I never intended to suggest Slayton not get replaced temporarily if his hand is injured. I have no particular opinion about whether it should be Hodgins or some other alternative if there is one; Hodgins hasn't looked especially reliable recently, either -- has he?
The point I wanted to make was what you do mention now: don't write Slayton off for the whole season yet. IMHO, he's worked hard and he deserves some leeway, especially when he can now be useful as a less-expected target in the new WR group.

Limited – DL Dexter Lawrence (foot), DB Nick McCloud (knee), LB Micah McFadden (back), WR Darius Slayton (thumb)
Full – OL Jermaine Eluemunor (thumb), OL John Michael Schmitz (neck)

I agree.
I’m assuming Tre Hawkins will be active. If not, he is not long for this team.
Seriously not good. This will make it extremely tough for the defense. This team just doesn’t have anyone else at cornerback that can be trusted.

Calves take a while. I would guess they are out next week too. And maybe a third game.
