Won a Super Bowl by using the run the ball eat up the clock and score a few points.Do not give your opponent to many offensive series to score points. So this is what we to do tomarrow night..Play eat the clock !!
Giants 27. Kowboys 23
.My man Jeff Hostetter from WVU which is 20 miles north of me was the QB..Met him many years ago at a WVU basketball game..Told him he should have won the MVP of the Super Bowl..Are you a Giants fan he asked? Yes I am,as I turned around for him to see my overcoat with NY GIANTS on the back..How did you get to West Virginia he asked ? I married a young lady who was born here and raised in NYC..Jeff met his wife when he came to QB West Virginia..He married the coach's daughter..How cool is that??
They are gonna have to beat a few good teams in a row before I can actually feel hopeful… but it’s still gonna be fun as shit watching Nabers this year. We got a special one on our hands. I hope we can turn it on, but I don’t trust these guys yet collectively. Dallas 31 NYG 21
I’ve thought for a while that the Giants at some point should try mercilessly running at the Cowboys to impose their will at the LOS. They haven’t been able to do that for a long time. This year I think they can; I’m just worried Daboll and Kafka get cute at some point if they start to run it well.
Especially b/c the Cowboys are close to quitting imo. This is the type of game you tell the OL in front of the entire team “we’re running the ball behind your asses all night, you’re winning or losing us the game”
Last week I felt the Giants pass rush was gonna be the difference, this week it is undoubtedly the run game. Don’t overthink it Dabka.
They are not nearly the same team in the trenches rn. Their DL has been getting bullied in the run game. I know its hard for Giants to say this without looking for a piano falling from the sky - we (should) have an advantage at the LOS tomorrow night if our guys come to play.
I’m not sold this Giants offense can put the ball in the end zone and I expect Jones to have a few standard blunders. I’ll also believe this defense can pressure a QB when I see it more than one time in just about a decade. Still not there yet, but an improvement over 40-0… hopefully
31-17 dallas. For the first time in a decade plus we have a line. That said, we ran the ball putridly in 2 of 3 games. So this game rests on Jones. I'm not liking our chances. I don't know what to make of the defense, but I don't think we're stopping Lamb
Terps, I can't even remember the last time we scored 35 points. 2022? I'm not even sure we hit that mark that season.
Which goes to show how frightened Terps is by the idea of Jones and the Giants playing well. He needs to set the bar unreasonably high so that he has enough wiggle room to still claim they disappointed despite a victory. The very idea that the hapless Giants could win a nationally televised game against the Cowboys (let alone by a score of 35-17!) would've been unfathomable two weeks ago to the Go Terps we'd all come to know and love. Have the goal posts moved?

As for me, I'm still dealing with the PTSD from last year's meetings with the Cowboys to have an unbiased opinion on tonight's game. I'm more pessimistic than usual, but maybe that's just me doing the flip side of what Terps is doing. It's not what you look like when you're doing what you're doing... - ( New Window )
Dallas has been terrible this year. The Saints and Ravens moved the ball at will on this defense. Now Dallas is going on the road on a short week for a division game. It has disaster written all over it for Dallas. Losing to the lowly Giants and dropping to 1-3 with an extended week to think about it may tank Dallas' season.
Since things like that never seem to happen to the Cowboys (in the regular season) I see this being their get right game. The Giants offense struggles at home, struggles in primetime, and struggles against the Cowboys.
The Giants should win this game, but my gut says the discussion on Friday is "Dallas defense finally pulls it together under Mike Zimmer, saves season."

I think most people with half a brain just ignore him, but thank God you posted this. I'm excited for tonight's game even though I have night game PTSD. I really think the Giants have the advantage on the LOS, Cowboys are in disarray and are so used to bullying the Giants that I'm hoping frustration will set in quickly when they can't. I'm gonna go for it Giants 33-19, but any win is good, 2-0, 56-53, etc. Baby steps!
I know Dallas is in decline, and I actually find this young Giants team to likeable in a lot of ways.
But past performance is a real sonofabitch here. Jones at home in prime time, and recent history against Dallas are all working against them.
I do think if the Giants win this game they'll be competing for a playoff spot going into the last game @ Philly. however, if the Giants lose and Jones looks poor we're right back at the week 1 discussion.
Dallas has been so bad this year. It's very weird to see their D getting rocked and their running game doing nothing. 3 games is not nothing but it's still hard to internalize how bad they've been given their history.
The Giants have been pretty much as expected on aggregate. The individual games have been different, but you'd expect them to win 1 out of 3 games, have a low scoring offense, and an OK but inconsistent defense.
So the question is - is Dallas actually bad? If they continue like they have so far this season, they'll be as bad as the Giants - maybe worse- so we should have a close game with them.
I just can't buy it yet so I'll say 27-13 Dallas. But this is the 1st time in a long time where it feels like we have a chance to keep it close with them.
I thought that the Giants would win each of their first three games.
It turns out that the Vikings are a lot better than anyone thought. This is the first game that I don’t think they’ll win prior to game time. It would be great if the Giants could finally win a game running the ball 40 times and only needing the QB to pass 20 times or less. But it’s been a long time since they’ve done that even though I have more confidence in this offensive line than any they’ve had in a decade. And finally, the worst version of Daniel Jones seems to appear in home primetime games. It just is what it is.
Is the one factor that could really help Jones get out of his home prime time doldrums. As bad as he's been in these scenarios, he won't be throwing to Parris Campbell, David Sills, Isiah Hodgins or washed Golden Tate.

My prediction is less about the Giants than it is the Cowboys. I know watching other football teams is anathema for many here, but the Cowboys have been a disaster. The Giants *should* beat them easily at home on a Thursday.

Yeah, what?
Rip on Terps all you want for his negativity and some very extreme posts, but the negative assessment of this team has been correct much more so than has the positive the last decade. I don't know how that is even mildly debatable even if you only casually follow the Giants.
But whatever Dallas gears up for make them think we will play into their scheme strength by formation, motion etc. (eye candy as Dabes likes to call it) and then do the opposite.
It's what we did so well in 2022 both offensively and defensively and what we did in Cleveland.
Terps not ripping on you at all but what the hell have the Giants done
in 3 games that makes you think they should easily beat the Cowboys.
No doubt the Cowboys are having a tough time right now adjusting to Zimmer’s defensive scheme but this Giant offense is bottom third in talent.
Just wondering??
It's a short week home game against a team that can't stop the run and has one player (Lamb) you have to worry about on offense. They have been horrendous the past two weeks at home.
If the Giants can't smack them around then what the hell are we doing here?

The Cowboys will double Nabers and force the Giants to throw short and Jones will execute just well enough to move the ball. Singletary will have a solid game including receiving 5 or more passes.
This is a game where Robinson has the most receptions and
hopefully breaks one on a slant for a score.
i agree with those who say this is a game they should win
i wont be surprised if they continue trending the right way and looking better, and if they do that they will win. they should have won the last 2 games on the road going away if not for their own sloppiness.
i also wont be surprised if Amani Oruwariye has a pick 6 on the 1st play after the cowboys run back the opening kickoff to go up 14-0 in less than 30 seconds.
such is the life with a team that can look so inconsistent series to series and week to week. that is a reflection of coaching. the question is if the coaching is getting better, staying the same, or getting worse? only 1 of those 3 options is good so im inclined to indulge in some protectionism.

I think we can always pencil in a TE going for 10 catches, 120 yards and 2 TDs against us on a primetime game.

Over the last decade, Terps has been right more often about this franchise and team than you've been.
How on God's green earth do you know that?

in 3 games that makes you think they should easily beat the Cowboys.
Agree with this.
This is a game where Robinson has the most receptions and
hopefully breaks one on a slant for a score.
i also wont be surprised if Amani Oruwariye has a pick 6 on the 1st play after the cowboys run back the opening kickoff to go up 14-0 in less than 30 seconds.
such is the life with a team that can look so inconsistent series to series and week to week. that is a reflection of coaching. the question is if the coaching is getting better, staying the same, or getting worse? only 1 of those 3 options is good so im inclined to indulge in some protectionism.

Lol--I deleted my account years ago and have been reading BBI for years. I'm on email threads with Terps, JonC, and others. Well done sleuthing, however. Wonderful work.
