Ability to throw the deep ball is crucial

eric2425ny : 9/27/2024 12:13 am
It’s ironic we just watched the rookie QB Daniels win the game for his team with perfectly placed deep passes a few nights ago. And then we lose tonight because our QB can’t hit a deep pass to save his life.

It’s not even the actual deep passes you complete because they are rare with the defensive talent in the league. It’s the threat that you may actually be able to complete them that forces defenses away from the line of scrimmage. No one is scared of Jones beating them deep.

As much as this loss sucks, it gets us closer to having a high enough pick to move on at QB.
Ability to catch the ball is important too

Jones was the best player on the field for them tonight. Nabers, slayton and wandale all took turns dropping the ball on crucial plays. Dabs also wasted too many downs running the ball for 1 yard
How many deep balls did

How about being able to get positive

Run yards on first and 2nd downs?
The Giants had too many long 3rd downs.
Not being able to run the ball list this game.

As I said in my post, it’s the threat that you can hit teams deep that matters. Dak had hit Lamb and others on deep passes on many occasions over the past few years.

Again, if teams don’t respect that your QB is accurate enough to hurt them on deep passes, they will crowd the short and intermediate part of the field. That directly impacts the running game.

Too bad there was no one at our pick that could throw the deep ball.

Jones did his best. I’m not saying he was the sole reason they lost. The issue is they couldn’t strike earlier in the game with big plays that were right there in front of them to prevent the desperate situation later in the game. Jones just doesn’t have the ability to scare a defense. It leads to this dink and dunk offense that will not work against good teams.

Nabers has 52 targets through 4 weeks. Thats not sustainable. You have to be able to make chunk gains from time to time.

Jones wasn't the great player. He missed multiple deep throws where receivers were wife open. You can also tell that he want scanning the field and just staring down the receiver. Many throws that were complete but weren't placed properly. He hardly ever places the ball away from defenders or leading the receiver.

This is so wrong I don’t even know where to start.

Give me a fucking break, best player in the field? If you want to ding Nabers and WanDale for drops, that’s fine, but what about Jones underthrowing deep balls by 10 yards? Why doesn’t he get dinged for that? He should have had at least 2 INT’s that Dallas dropped.

Best player, my ass.
