0 catches in 4 games. This offense has a lid on it. Safeties are cheating over towards Nabers. Need to get Hyatt out there, and at the very least have a threat of a deep ball. (Whether DJ can hit it is another story).
Also, I like Wan’Dale, but on 3rd and long, it seems almost pointless to have him out there. He is ineffective when operating more than 5 yards from the LOS. Why not go Slayton and Hyatt on the outside, and move Nabers inside, or Nabers and Slayton outside with Hyatt in the slot (where he played in college). I think I’d even rather have Hodgins out there on 3rd and long…
Pretty simple.
Assuming that's true, then it make sense why he's not out there. I don't care how fast he is - if teams have it figured that he's only good for one thing, then he's simply a non-factor to the offense. Even a decoy has to be a threat to do something you're not expecting.
Same regarding playing Neal at right guard
Pretty simple.
This.
Not sure Hyatt is good or not but man this team is sad
Pretty simple.
Definitely. It was painful last night watching Jones throw up lame ducks on any deep pass. He used to have some arm strength, but it seems to have left the building!
Bust? Or bad drafting to trade up for a guy you cant seem to use properly.

But if Nabers can't go next week, he'll get a chance.

It was discussed that Hyatt is not a polished route runner. Strength is his speed and he's a deep threat. But he can't be a one trick pony either. That being said, he deserves some more playing time, and needs to be used more than one way (vertical threat) Slayton has been dropping critical passes ever since he got here.
All of this is likely why despite his blazing speed, he was still available in the third round. Those problems, especially his inability to run a full route tree, have yet to be solved, and are more of a reason why he can't get on the field than Jones' inability to throw deep. Hyatt can't even beat out Slayton, who the Giants have been trying to get rid of for several years, and who played with a bad thumb last night. And yet Schoen used third and fourth round draft picks to get him. Hyatt is beginning to look like an updated version of Brian Alford.

Giants brass knew who he was. We have all seen the video of Hyatt at the combine calling out the Dallas coach. So, the GM traded up to get a guy with flaws they cant work with or cant get him the ball? Both seem like crappy team management.
Do you think if both Hyatt and Nabers were out there together the likely hood of Hyatt getting 1x1 and separation enough to move chains or allowing Nabers single coverage. We have horses but no stable manager!!!
