Outside Linebacker Brian Burns

Q: How'd you feel that you guys played defensively?

A: Just didn't make enough plays, didn't take enough shots at the ball. We didn't force any turnovers to help our offense. So, I'd say that's what we lacked today.

Q: You guys were more successful in the second half, what was different for you?

A: Made a couple adjustments. If anything, to just to eliminate the explosives. I mean, they had that one huge explosive with (Dallas Cowboys WR) CeeDee (Lamb). We just tried to eliminate explosives and focus on everybody doing their job. The one eleven.

Q: Where do you think this team is right now? You guys are 1-3 going into this little quarter poll break, where do you think you guys are?

A: It's gonna be a good reset. (New York Giants Head Coach Brian Daboll) Dabs had something powerful to say afterwards. He's disappointed, but not discouraged, because we never gave up. It was a close fight. Guys showed a lot of grit, offense showed a lot of grit coming down to the wire. They just made more plays than we did today.

Q: Obviously you came here coming from a losing situation and I'm sure you wanted to win here, so what are your emotions now at 1-and-3?

A: Like you said, I've been here before. So, I'm really just taking it one day at a time, focusing on myself, focusing on looking in the mirror and trying to capitalize on the plays, the opportunities that I get. The times I do get one-on-ones, the times I do have time to get to the Q, just trying to affect the game any way I can.

If Burns does not consistently start wrecking games...

...Schoen should be fired.

Dallas doubled Dex on every play, yet Burns had one QB hit and one tackle for a loss. No hurries. Just pathetic.

isn’t nearly as good as I thought he was.

Looking past sacks, you barely notice he’s on the field.

which makes Burns’s disappearing act even more frustrating. He has to play better, but I’m coming to the conclusion that he just isn’t that good.

caught in no man's land. Not stout enough to be a great edge setter or run defender and somehow still not twitchy enough to get anywhere enar the QB with single coverage on a regular basis. He better improve a lot in a short timeframe or his contract will be added to the growing list of other big time blunders by Joe Schoen that have perpetuated terrible play here

No he isn’t. When this guy is 1on1 he’s getting no where near the QB. And great defensive players get doubled. The dirty little secret is they still make impact plays. He’s been a massive bust so far. Looks the part and talks the part, but why do you think Dan Morgan didn’t want to pay him?

25 year old great pass rushers don’t get traded for 2nd round picks.

Schoen has a rational approach to things and seems like a smart guy, a definite improvement to Gettleman, but too many of his big moves just haven't paid off.

Extending Jones for monster money, drafting Neal #7 overall, trading for Waller, trading for Burns and paying him monster money. Needs to be better.
