The Jones topic has been beaten to death. This guy was drafted for his YAC and was straight up terrible last night. It seems like every week we see players our defense miss and extend drives.
The Giants don't have any margin of error, so he's got to make those plays.
Hyatt and the TEs are doing nothing. The pass catchers are Nabers, Nabers, Nabers, Robinson, Robinson and Slayton. Everybody else maybe gets a target or two and an occasional catch. So Robinson has to catch the catchable balls. When he doesn't, it's a big problem.
But not all “YAC” is the same. Some “YAC” is by schematic design which is what a lot of what Robinson does comes from. Other “YAC” comes from making the first tackler miss, making a cut, and creating yards not through scheme but through your own playmaking ability.
One or two plays from him last night probably wins the game. Like I said, I’m a fan but that was disappointing.
This is a slot receiver who is able to get open just about any time he wants... AND he has good hands.
Fans should be glad he is on our team.
Mostly agree. I do think yesterday especially his drops were one thing, but consistently running routes just short of the sticks is another. He has to know where the sticks are. He usually shows the ability to wiggle for at least an extra couple of yards. Not on a number of plays yesterday. Some of that is ball placement, some the D, and some is just get past the sticks before breaking.

I agree with running to the sticks. Cannot argue with that and it is something I criticized WRs for quite often.
There are other factors here though. Often times especially on 3rd down the defender plants his feet at the sticks. This means the WR may have no choice but to take something underneath just to get the ball. Not optimal but it is a reality.
We really need better route designs in these situations. Too often I saw two guys running routes short of the sticks and then one very deep. Makes no sense to me and there it seemed more like scheme vs a WR decision.
I watched the game with the sound off and phone/BBI down. I find the criticism of WR absurd. He was playing his guts out. Whether it was by play design or something else [cough DJ], the passes were short, the WRs weren’t thrown open, and the defense was bunched up pounding the WRs on every play. I wasn’t surprised MN was hurt, I didn’t know how long he could hold up on under that intentional physical abuse. Scapegoating WR and every other player without the initials MN is not borderline delusional it is flat out delusional.
His catches are in effect, carries.
I like his skill-set, it's useful to any modern day NFL team. But I was very disappointed in his 2nd half performance last night.
Has no get away capability. For being this small supposedly fast guy, he is not elusive.
He goes down easily, and is too small to break tackles.
While a good target and should be used, the lacking TE spot and focus is where Jones is going with Wandale
He needs less touches and TE's need more
Blew the game multiples times last night in the 2nd half.

I’ll settle for 1.

Agreed. He had a bad game yesterday with some drops but he has converted a lot of 3rd downs for us and except for yesterday has gotten a lot of YAC.
I think people are overreacting to yesterday's game.
