Tight End

Simply put, they don't have one and aren't utilizing one. Zero threat for a guy to press the seams in the middle of the field. Heard so much about Theo Johnson coming out of Penn State and I think I've seen him catch two passes in four games. The odd thing is he's out there almost every play.

Like every time Jones looks his way that they are way off. It's going to take some time for Jones to trust him.
Can we give Johnson more than 4 games

early to tell with Johnson, but if he doesn't work out, then it's another personnel failing by Schoen and the scouts. As I have said several times, they drafted Bellinger instead of Isaiah Likely or Jake Ferguson. Ferguson was very effective against us last night.
Johnson has had a couple of drops.

But, he is also on the field for almost every snap. They don't look his way. They clearly aren't calling plays designed for him or Bellinger and given Jones doesn't go through progressions, it is not surprising they aren't getting many targets. I honestly don't know if they have been open and just not thrown to, but I suspect that is part of it quite often.

No. Most 4th round picks are fully formed players after their first 4 games. Time to close the book on this guy.

there with full grown dogs. He'll get better, it will take time - hopefully it happens at an expedited pace.

This. TE is a very difficult position. We know Bellinger is a nothing. The other guys are basically blockers. Johnson get a little more time

in the draft . It hasn’t happened yet. The two times he has caught the ball, one DB has dropped him like a sack of crap. 85’s best catch of his career was on Tracy’s champagne-cork fumble on the KOR. Bellinger is stealing snaps .

Engram turned out to be a pretty damn good player. As did Love. Should have kept both of those guys. McKinney too, but his contract demands were not going to be met and I understand not wanting to pay a safety 17M.

This offense would be in pretty good shape with Barkley, Engram and Nabers, this Oline, and Taylor at QB.

I don't think that's the point. If he's not fully formed yet, why is he in on so many plays? He's in on a lot of 3rd downs split out, and if the offensive line is holding up really well, I just don't see the point until he can earn it.

as it seems they have a limited role in the passing game. I would be curious to know how many targets they have as a group and how that compares to the rest of the NFL on rate basis.

Bellinger looked pretty good his first year. Fans, reporters, podcasters, all saying "hey the Giants look like they have a decent 2 way end".

So what happened? Did the player change, the QB, the scheme, the play calling?
