The sad part about the current state of affairs is that the division looked ripe for the taking. The Cowboys look bad. The commanders are rebuilding, and the Eagles look okay, but nothing special. Despite all the flaws on the team, they have enough to compete to win the division.
However, the eyesore at the most important position will the reason why they are headed towards another dismal season. It will most likely be the reason for mass firings at the season, after the players eventually turn on the QB and the coach. It will get ugly and it's only the beginning. Perhaps it will lead the the changes people want, not don't expect the next guys to be any better. There is no light at the end of the tunnel.
You think that, maybe, it's harder to run the ball when defenses have absolutely no fear of the QB burning them deep?

not being able to run the ball. Obviously, Jones' long ball is a concern, but they struggled running the ball, and stopping the run, but logic escapes many here on BBI.

If there was one guarantee coming into the season, it's that people would find excuses for Jones no matter what happened.
I'm baffled at what he's done in his entire fucking life to deserve it, but here we are in year 6 and it's the same shit.

Maybe, but you and everyone here knows for sure Dallas sold out to stop the run? Then why did they even keep trying?

This, defenses can pack in tight without fear.
Last night the wide receivers did not play well. Robinson and Nabers average per reception was something that would have made Butch Wolfolk proud.
# 1 appears to have a conditioning problem. He always seems gassed. And I don’t think his game speed matches his work out speed . Right now what I see is a guy closer to Steve Smith than Beckham. And he now has a concussion problem.
PS Slayton should be waived . Hodgins was a more useful player .
Good point, except his college stars weren't good.
Here's the thing, Jones 2 years ago would've won this game, as he could at least occasionally throw it deep and had the threat of his legs. For those who use 2022 to defend Jones, he's not even that guy anymore.

become Bailey Zappe. Good college QB who can throw short and generate big stats, but not an NFL QB

Thats why I said has become. He used to be different. I don't know if its injuries, the mental aspect beating him down, or the fact his game couldn't translate to the NFL talent, but he is "now" a short throwing, move the chains, game manager QB.
We can get these for $10M or less, not $40M
I'll give you Dak and Baker, still not in on Darnold magically turning it around.

Nope. It's Jones can't throw deep because they can't run the ball. And he can't throw in front of a WR because they can't run the ball. And he can't go to a 2nd read because they can't run the ball.
He had to time move his head around and scan the field. Looked like he was.

I cannot believe people on this site who still make excuses for Jones. It's probably the reason we'll be having these exact same conversations over the next five years.
Stop protecting Jones, every DC knows that if you can get pressure on Jones he folds like a lawn chair and he can't throw deep so get in position and you have an easy INT. It's time to move on, last week against Cleveland is the best you will get from him...which is not acceptable to me
