Daboll is horrific as a play caller, I'm sorry. He needs to hand the reigns back over to Kafka which obviously won't happen.
Obviously Josh Allen made him look like a genius in Buffalo but he calls game too conservatively to win here. Almost lost us the game in Cleveland because of it and probably could have won the game last night if he decided he actually wanted to win.
I'm ok with letting him walk next season and bringing in a new coach.
Dabol ran the ball on first down even when Dallas had 8 in the box.
The Giants averaged a little over one yard per run.
The Giants were in 3rd and long the entire game.
It took until the second half that they occasionally threw on first down. And the Giants were successful on those occasions.
But after the first drive in the second half, Dabol reverted to first down runs.
This constantly put Jones in pressure situations. Despite the consensus, Jones effectively managed the game and moved the sticks.
The game plan did not include attacking deep.
If you are looking for blame look at the drop passes and the penalties.
Slayton, Robinson, and Nabors each dropped two passes in critical situations.
The phantom facemask penalty on Bellinger. Holding calls, and an illegal motion that negated a long play.
The defense was equally complicit.
Zak was awful against pressure in the last two games.
So why was it that the Giants rushed 4? They were so successful with blitzes and stunts against Cleveland.
The defense was "bend and not break". This was the defense we saw against Washington.
Even against the run they rarely brought 8 into the box. Where was the run support by the safties? Why didn't they use McFadden to attack the gaps more?
The answer is that the Giants played passive. They were risk-averse on both sides of the ball.
Dabol seemed like he wanted to shorten the game. This is not a winning attitude. This is a coach who was afraid.
And for those who want to blame Jones, you are too blinded by your prejudices to be objective. He played well, within the game plan. In the list of reasons why the Giants lost he is at the end.
Where was Hyatt!? Except for the last play he never saw the ball come his way. Now with Nabers with concussion will they call Hyatt, Slay, even the tight ends. Use ALL the tools. Put Nabers and Hyatt on the same side with WD17. 😳 now who do you cover deep! I’m not an OC but I play one on Sundays.

Excellent post! Nothing to add. Its perfect.
I didn't realize daboll was the QB, I'm sure he wanted to but Jones is the QB, fault lies with him
Again, if they are called to go into the endzone and DJ isn't attempting it, then when does the HC say enough?
Wins and his job are on the line.
I'm beginning to think - no, this is the offense.
Or else let's go to Lock.
He coaches not to lose. At least they tried some deep balls yesterday.
