Pat Leonard @PLeonardNYDN This Brian Daboll comment on Darius Slayton caught my attention today: "I thought Slay did a good job of creating separation. He had a couple opportunities. He could’ve had about five for over a hundred." An obvious reference to Daniel Jones missing the two deep throws #Giants |
Too risky. Terps is probably right. Mara’s got his eye on drafting a top 10 RB this year to replace Barkley.
Well Daboll was effusive in his praise on Jones. I mean he is “proud” of him
Maybe Daboll just praises everyone now and wants to be a players coach

I almost took the "proud" of him as a backhanded comment. Like, he sucks but I'm proud of him for hanging in there and not being downright awful. I have never heard a coach say he was proud of a good player, usually its always a practice squad type guy who is just trying hard.
Would you consider the ball that was picked off when Slayton was open by 5 yards a drop as well? (the one that was called back for offsides). You conveniently "forgot" to mention that one.
Just has hands of stone, and it sucks.

Because you make it sound like it could be interpreted as a shot at Jones

Yep. The actions are he didn't go for it on 4th down deep in Dallas territory because he probably doesn't trust Jones. Proud of him though almost like he feels sorry for him. It's a mess.
Opposite of the Giants.
I truly don't believe the Giants have more than two offensive players who can do hard things. Nabers and Thomas.
If there is a hard blocking assignment, and hard throw, hard catch, hard run to be had -- more times than not I don't think they have the players to do it.
