those are my early college football notes.. very raw
Carson Beck (I don't see it with him, not a top 10 pick, the team is stacked and today vs Alabama will be a great test)
Shedeur Sanders (pure passer, but Deion comes with him...)
Quinn Ewers (fragile, clutch but inconsistent I would not take him in round 1)
Cameron Ward (reminds me a bit of Justin Fields with more leadership and cooler demeanor, needs to process faster)
Jaxson Dart (still discovering this guy, can't wait for his team to face better competition so he needs to play great in adversity)
Jalen Milroe (Jalen Hurts, a great game vs Georgia will help his stock, great arm, awesome mobility, good guy)
Miller Moss (Purdy kind of prospect, limited tools but not a lot of upside. Not the kind of player you draft round 1, but will start at the next level or be a teaser boderline starter, awesome backup)
Drew Allar (strong arm, mobile enough, Ohio State game will tell us if he's top 10 material or round 2-3. I'm interested and I think he could become a very good starter at the next level, but he must play with more urgency)
Conner Weigman ... wildcard has the tools, I need to see more! I see a very poor's Texas Tech Mahomes kind of player under the radar
I suspect our draft position will be around 4-8
The good thing is we can trade down at 10 or even more and still get one of those guys
1- Drew Allar (if Daboll is back, he will be the choice)
2- Jalen Milroe
3- Cameron Ward
what do you guys think?
Evaluate Shedeur on his merits. I would not worry at all about his dad.
on an extremely relevant topic since the Giants will be parting ways with their incumbent QB after the season.
A note about your statement: "The good thing is we can trade down at 10 or even more and still get one of those guys."
In late September this statement is very true. But in 5-6 months, two or three QBs will have separated themselves from the pack... so much so that it will force the Giants to give up significant trade capital to trade up, not down. Unless of course they only win 2 or 3 games in which case they could just sit tight.
As for the prospects, my eye is set on Cam Ward. On another thread I said that several NFL teams will fall in love with his Aaron Rodgers-esque three-quarters gun-slinger flick delivery.
My issue with Ward is that he plays a bit too relaxed, similar in a sense to a young Patrick Mahomes. It benefits him by staying cool under pressure but he’ll also force plays and not know when to chuck it out of bounds. Last night was the first time he played a decent defense and he had some brainfarts; his early fumble in his own territory was brutal. Tried throwing an incomplete pass while being tackled to mitigate maybe a 3-5 yard loss but ended up fumbling it and giving Va Tech the ball. I see a double edged sword there but Daboll could be very dangerous with him.
His best drive was his last, which I loved. Made about 3 wow plays when they needed it.

Why do you think teams should just ignore his father? It’s one of the larger red flags in recent memory IMO.
He was easily defensed against Kansas State. Don’t see scheme diversity in the NFL.
Ward and Ewers I agree op is underrating. I think op is also overrating Sanders. Not sure I see an NFL starter in Beck.

I love Arizona and I watch all of their games. Fifita is likely not an NFL QB. He is very small and has piled up stats because of his strong rapport with T-Mac. He is good at the college level, but I don’t see him as a viable NFL prospect.
This is how I feel as well. I think Cam Ward has it. Nussmeir is my close second.

Allar was horrible against Michigan last year. Not accurate at all.

I agree... and IMO he brings a circus to town
