Lately the podcast has been getting guests or input from people within the Giants organization, most specifically Bob Papa. On this podcast, Jerry Foley, out of nowhere stated something to the effect that “BD is going to be our coach next year come hell or high water, even if he pulls a Joe Judge, he’ll still be the coach. He deserves it.”
It was so out of character for him to make such a statement. I was wondering if that was inside information. I have to believe it is. Plus the podcast has taken a much friendlier tone with the team instead of the honest evaluation that they used to give.
It was around the 38th minute of the podcast if you wanna listen to it
After listening to Daboll's pollyanna gibberish after the game, it sounded like they might be having a champagne celebration...
There's no pleasing the crowd after a loss.
He does, however, have to coach these men -not kids- for the rest of the year.
Public callouts?
Blowing up?
What is the preferred reaction after Game 4?
The Giants just lost for the 14th time in the last 15 games to the Dallas Cowboys, a division opponent. Daniel Jones is now 1-13 in prime time games and 1-8 in games he has started against the Cowboys. Since he signed his ridiculous contract, where Daniel Jones is the sixth highest cap hit in the NFL this year, his team has yet to score a single touchdown at home. Four games zero touchdowns, eleven field goals. Arguably the worst offensive productivity by any quarterback in four consecutive home games in Giants history.
And yet the head coach comes out to the podium after the game and declares when asked about DJ that "I'm proud of the young man. He's made good decisions. He's thrown the ball where he needs to throw the ball.... For three games he's been locked in. He's played well. He's seeing the field. He's delivered the ball where he needs to. Again, we had some opportunities to continue drives today, as well. I'm proud of how he's performed, how he's prepared. He's done a nice job for us." A fucking participation trophy after a miserable offensive game for a guy occupying twenty percent of the cap? Beyond disgusting!
So yeah, Daboll might want to get rid of the shill gaslighting bullshit and perhaps focus on the accountability of his quarterback to the rest of the guys in the locker room? Maybe instead of staring down the Pat Leonard's of the world when asked about his job security, perhaps he should take a good long look in the mirror and recognize that his authenticity as a leader, which is what worked in 2022 and got him NFL COY, has been slimmed down to nothing more than whining defensiveness and self-preservation.
If Daboll doesn't revert back to his winning approach fast, I think there is a very good chance he will not have to worry about coaching these "men" for the rest of the year. He will be gone by the bye week....
I have a feeling the Giants are going to turn this thing around soon. I only base it on the past three games. I think the Browns was a convincing win, could have scored 28 if Singletary goes in. The D was outstanding. Wash and Dallas were only a play away from winning. Of course, at Wash if we had a kicker, probably a win. Yeah, I see these guys right on the edge of a turn around. Wishful thinking? Maybe, let's see what happens in Seattle, important game.
RE: That’s not what interested me during that podcast

I like the podcast, but the Papa stuff is so nauseating. Papa's a complete shill who you can't take anything he says objectively.

OK, now that you've settled.
1. Praise publicly; criticize privately.
2. Blowing up after a game is a sure way to get canned mid-season. Most other things can wait until the end.
3. Accountability on the team is not to us -it is to the coaches. All the anger we feel about poor performance was handled Friday in video session.
4. He's not going to field questions about long-term trends in a post-game press conference.
5. He's not going to make personnel announcements at a post-game press conference.
The loss sucks.
But the coach's job after a loss is to gaslight and take the heat. I don't know why we expect anything exceptional here. If there is, it's bad, like JJ.

This is the fourth consecutive home game Jones has started in which the Giants didn't score a touchdown.
This was not a game the Giants gave away or lost on mistakes.
They lost because of who they are.
