Would you try and trade Slayton to KC to try and get something out of him? There is also the possibility that they just resign him for another year after the season. The free agent class isn’t very strong and I don’t know if they want to use high draft capital to draft a WR when they need QB, CB & possibly a DT. They could trade Slayton and possibly use that pick along with something else in the draft to address that position. I think it would be worth exploring.

"Rice and four other men were seen leaving the scene of the crash without seeing if any of the injured needed help.
Rice is facing one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury, according to police.
Rice turned himself into police on Thursday and was later released on bond. On April 3, he said he took "full responsibility" for his actions.
Knox has been suspended by the SMU football team. He turned himself in on Friday and faces the same charges as Rice, his former SMU teammate.
Police said that the passengers in the two speeding cars who left the scene will not be charged.
According to the affidavit, one woman who was injured in the crash sustained injuries to her head, neck and back. The woman told the Dallas Morning News that she was stranded on the highway with her 4-year-old son for about five hours after the crash.
Among the other injuries, the affidavit listed one person as having sustained "seriously bodily injury" to her face, head, torso and leg. The report said she also had post-concussion symptoms, including headaches, extreme light and sound sensitivity and brain fog.
She will be dealing with "a life of limited mobility and sight for an undetermined, extended period of time while she seeks treatment," the affidavit said."
Not quite sure when, but he will probably take Rice's place and I suspect they give Worthy more snaps, that guy can fly.
All before considering a trade for Slayton.
He's on the Browns practice squad.
And that is largely driven by the impact this would have on the head of the DSFC - christian.

first move will be to bring Toney back from the practice squad.

Exactly, Eligible to be signed by anyone who adds them to the active roster.

I have no idea how this guy wasn’t suspended. I remember seeing his name in fantasy football drafts and was like no way, he’s got to be suspended for at least half the season. Then he just starts the year like nothing happened. So odd.
KC doesn't need someone who has potential. They need someone who can come in and offer competent play immediately. They are win now.

could not care less about a potentially-serious injury than this one.

Because there is a CBA and the legal process has not yet concluded. the league can of course suspend players regardless of legal disposition but usually that is with domestic cases. the league is likely waiting in this case to see the legal outcome.
I agree with your priors here, but I think what would keep the trade from happening is that we've still got five weeks to the trade deadline, and while our season isn't looking good, we're not in zombie mode just yet.
If we're 1-8 after we play Washington again, it's a different conversation.
good point. Also while we're correcting things, it's "Rashee" Rice, not Rasheed.
I still think there are a lot of other options better than Slayton if you're a Chiefs personnel guy. I'd trade him, and I don't think he is bereft of value, but I'd look at players like Amari Cooper (depending on Browns/Raiders outcome) before Slayton. Or even though he's injured, Davante Adams (depending on the outcome of the Browns/Raiders).
Maybe even see if I can lure Pickens away from PIT.
Pickens is least likely IMO b/c he's a rookie and would probably cost the most, but at 1-3 I can see the Browns or Raiders listening on Cooper or Adams - especially with Adams still injured another week or 2.

would have more interest in Hyatt than Slayton. We know what Slayton is at this point. Hyatt has some level of untapped potential, whatever that may be.

Slayton doesn’t offer competent plays. He’s average at best. He actually does kind of stink like another poster states. Giant WRs are always grossly overrated on this site from Slayton to Hyatt to Tim Carter to Ramses Barden. Other teams don’t look at these bums the same way everyone here does. Slayton at best gets a 7th round pick. Probably not even that.
but man this site is schizophrenic, one week people want to extend Slayton, pay him like a veteran WR should be paid, and now people think he's shitty and KC wouldn't be interested even for a late round pick. A team who has lost at least two WR's now for the year.
I'd love to see that Venn diagram, I bet there is some overlap. a lot of overlap.
