Giants 2nd Worst Drop Rate.

Giantsbigblue : 9/29/2024 10:29 pm
Going into week 3 we were already 2nd in the NFL with dropped passed and drop rate percentage and the Cowboys game is not going to help that out. I know Jones has sucked at throwing the deep ball, but there is plenty of blame to go around.

Attack away...

They will always remain among the highest in drop rate

as long as Slayton is playing for them

They can't even drop the ball well.
I wonder what they consider a "Drop"

If it would have been a greater catch? Or a pass right in the hands/bread basket that the receiver failed to complete.

There are drops, and then there are drops.
Shhhhhh!!!

I'm sorry, what is being fucked with here? The reality that Jones is not a very good QB?
I think I've officially given up on this season now.

Before October too! Maybe a new record.

After seeing this weekend's caliber of football (even the teams that got blown out) - the Giants don't even look like they belong in the NFL.

The close scoreline on Thursday night seems like a mirage to me. Very weird game - I'm not surprised that Cowboys fans were dissatisfied with it and were actually beating up on their team after a win.

And, yeah, I think breaking the bank on Jones after '22 is what completely torpedoed the franchise for the 3rd or 4th time this decade. Everything else is an afterthought. Daboll might have been a good fit in NY but I guess we'll never know now.

Huh? Do you have Hellen Keller's TV?

The ball was in both hands and secured before he dropped the ball.

This is correct. Slayton and Robinson also dropped 3rd or 4th down balls in that quarter.
I think had Nabers not gotten concussed on that play it would have been brought up more. The cynical me originally thought he played up the injury because he dropped that pass.

It's the other way around. Drops are like errors in baseball. The receiver gets the benefit of the doubt.

And yeah, if the name on the back of Jones jersey was almost anyone else, the lede's on the offense would be drops and, against Dallas, inability to run.

Jones left 2-4 plays on the field in the last few weeks, like every single other player on offense. Like Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts yesterday for example. In fact Jones was better (by quite a lot) than Allen -- and the Bills had a running game and a defense.

Two things are possible: our WRs drop too many catches & our QB still sucks.

Yes Jones is Jones (I like Danny Dinks vs Danny Dimes now), but many of those drops are game losers. They likely win in DC if Nabers holds that pass. And they have a decent chance vs Dallas if anyone of those three major drops is held. (Or it gets them another FG!)

Yup. It’s also possible at times our WRs have dropped easily catchable balls, and other times balls were counted as drops that weren’t put in an easily catchable spot by Jones

The drops at critical times are as big a reason for our record as any.

All the catches on there is graded appropriately. No team differ than the other. Theo Johnson also has had a couple of drops and he's barely seen targets.

Read this and go to advance receiving. They also didn't have Nabers for any drops the Dallas game even though we all saw some.
