"I kno I ain’t sayin nothin we don’t all know but uhhh Malik 🤮…."
Not sure what to make of this.
Even after that stupid trade, and his digs at Giants management, I remained something of a fan of his and was rooting for him; glad he got a ring after such a nasty litany of injuries. Also wasn't a horrible guy - flamboyant and enjoyed his 20s as any elite generational athlete would without causing too much chaos but this tweet just baffles me.
The Giants sucking aside, wtf is this about?
So is this just straight up jealousy and insecurity from a guy struggling to come to terms with the fact that he might be permanently washed up from here on out?
In a way, it's kinda flattering that he has this much reverence for his first NFL team and the possible threat Nabers presents to his legacy in New York (being the only great player on an otherwise hopeless team).
Oh well...

Probably more likely the result of insecurity that this elite talent is threatening his legacy as a Giant at the position.
I'm not going to assume his intentions, and the less attention he gets regarding any negative commentary of Nabers, if that is what it was, is probably best.
Oh.

Fair enough.
Nah OBJ was just giving him his props (credit, compliments, praise, etc.)
Odell's only 4 years younger than me.
I'm not convinced this is just praise.
Great figures in sports are often known for their pettiness.
Yeah I thought that too.
It's depressing whenever I hear these guys who've gone through college and made millions not be able to speak basic English (or any language for that matter) coherently.
Haha include me among the clueless. As a 64-year old teacher of high school students I often have to ask them what certain expressions mean. In summer school, there was a girl who said I had "rizz" (good news, it means "charisma"!) and a boy who asked if I "faded" (bad news, it means "get high"). Another was "Period" (I'm still not sure exactly what it means but it's a form of positive affirmation).
I'll take it back - he is calling his performance "sick" as in great.
It is not really at all hard to tell.
It definitely means he's talented at football

say it, hard to tell whether he is calling him "sick" or bashing him for dropping that last pass. Inflection and tone means a lot.

I see you caught yourself later before I read the rest of the comments.

Oh yeah, as a parent (blended family) of 9, I feel ya!
Also, when have we ever heard one NFL receiver be negative about another NFL receiver? It's an odd conclusion to make to begin with.

ha!
Ouch!
Do you think after the last several performances where he is setting rookie records for receptions and TDs, he is praising a guy who graduated from the same college as him, or do you think he is ripping on him?
Why would anyone think the latter? Why wouldn't you think there would be more made of OBJ insinuating a player as good as Nabors is, sucks?
Sometimes context will help you decipher things.
Sometimes ebonics is hard to undersyand

Ebonics? He used an emoji. An emoji isn't ebonics.
I have never seen that emoji used in a positive sense until now, lol.
OBJ loves LSU and probably sees a lot of himself in Nabers.
I like the post about him being a possible mentor.
Then again, if I were Beckham, I'd probably be pretty bitter about Giants management and want nothing to do with them.
Serendipity though - no way in hell he would have won a single playoff game with us, let alone get a ring in the best stadium in the NFL in the SB with the best pageantry of all time. Jettisoning him really did him a favor in the grand scheme of things.
I was in college with guys his age when we were stupid kids.
Kind of silly that he's a grown man with a family but talks like a teenager.
But I guess that's in-line with some of the commentary I've seen about NFL athletes who get themselves in trouble - they barely make it through college, get given vast sums of money immediately when they're 21-23 years old, then are expected to act like grown ups from the get go.
Even though he hasn't been convicted of any felonies (yet), it's still kind of unbecoming that he talks like a kid.
