this team is just locked in right now. forgetting this game since it's obviously now in the bullpen's hands, but this postseason this team will go as far as the BP takes it. if they keep games close i dont think too many opposing BPs are going to be able to consistently get through this lineup in pressure situations and 1 run games.
i still trust maton more than stanek. my question is diaz even if he only has 1 inning in him. have him face schwarber, turner, harper, and if nec castellanos/bohm.
best case he gets the first 3 and castellanos in the 9th cant tie it. you have maton and stanek for 9th.
Really? To the the 86 Mets were absolutely loaded. comparing them to the 2024 Dodgers is more appropriate than the 2024 Mets.

i dont think you can throw danny young into a late game situation with the 3 batter rule.
if there's a lefty heavy 5th/6th inning sure. late game you have to go with the guys who have been there before.

id stick with maton > stanek but id have probably brought in diaz. bohm with 2 on is the highest leverage moment of this game. would take a lot of things to go wrong in 9th to recreate that.

Ryne Stanek is warming in the bullpen for what's technically not a save situation, but... it's a playoff game. Looks like Stanek will try to close it out.

it was terrible and it seemed one-sided. and I almost never complain about refs/umps.
forget DP, Garrett and Maton got their jobs done very well.
