despite losing the season series to them during the regular season. The Phillies, like the Brewers, won the regular season series against the Mets

our BP is what decides all these games. if they get their jobs done we win.

I'm fine with not letting Harper beat you. Castellanos is easier to pitch against..but you HAVE to execute your pitches or he'll make you pay.

Interesting comparison. I do see the connection to the Nembhard game this past spring with the Knicks, however, it's all still in front of them given it's now a best of 3 and we have home field advantage. Opportunity definitely lost in terms of the strangle-hold, but any road team has to sign immediately for a split in these playoff series.
How is everyone else feeling on the off day today? Count me as cautiously optimistic. I think the lesson learned yesterday is that at some point we're going to have to pitch to, and retire Harper in a big spot. Castellanos is a good professional hitter who, as we've now seen, will capitalize on opportunities to drive in men in scoring position.

Kodai Senga "continues to feel good" following his Game 1 start, per Carlos Mendoza. Sounds like he is going to be the Mets' Game 5 starter if that one becomes necessary.

Low and away is the way to pitch Castellanos, won't hurt you there. His game winner was inner half of plate.
How are you feeling after yesterday? My feeling was disappointed yet not crushed. Stunned that Vientos even tied the game. I only hope they play as loose at home as they have on this epic road tour.
The Mets should be able to win one of these home games. What gives me hope is the Mets would have Senga and Peterson on full rest for Game 5. Severino would also be on full rest on Friday and could pitch if needed. If the Mets could get Wheeler out of the game after seven in a close game, the Mets could have the advantage in the late innings of a Game 5 as the Phillies bullpen has been awful to start this series.

Maton and Garrett should have proper rest and be good for 6-9 combined outs. It'd be great to give Diaz another day off, but I think you have to give him another shot if you need 3 outs (over going with someone like Ottavino). Two days rest for Peterson also who has looked good coming out of the pen.
-McNeil would likely join the team if they move on to the next round.

I feel excited and angry. I think the players wanna get back out there. They KNOW they can beat the Phillies, they just ran outta time. I think they're in the Phillies' heads now. They got to their pen two days in a row---not an accident. The only thing that worries me is the Diaz factor: I don't trust him. Hopefully by giving him more rest, he'll be more effective. I also think and feel that the day off today will do do wonders for them as will finally being home for th first time in about two weeks for these next two games. Citi Field is gonna be a mad house! The players will feed off of the energy.

So what do you think happens with Matt Allen? Since they won't see him live in games is there any chance they add him to the 40-man? Is there a risk someone like the White Sox poach him?

Let’s hope this pattern continues for the Mets’ sakes. The Mets placed RHP Paul Blackburn on the 60-day injured list three days ago due to him experiencing spinal fluid leak. Hopefully he’ll be back healthy for Spring Training. One last FYI: tomorrow’s start time for Game 4 is subject to change.

It would be pretty unusual for him to be poached but unusual does occasionally happen (see Noah Song). I wouldn’t expect it but who knows?

Sometimes players perform better in this situation, as weird as that sounds. They go into "the zone" and just focus their energy razor sharp on the task at hand.
I thought it was gone.
