Welcome to this best-of-five National League Division Series thread between the 6th seeded Mets (89-73) & the 2nd seeded N.L. East Champion Phillies (95-67). The Mets beat the Brewers by the hairs on their chinny-chin-chins in the NLWS two days ago
despite losing the season series to them during the regular season. The Phillies, like the Brewers, won the regular season series against the Mets
7 games to 6. The Mets will be looking for some payback against the Phillies the same way they did against the Brewers. Click

Looks like prospect lists and articles won't be once you've read 10.
Vientos was never really a 1b (11 career appearances headed into 2022) but Pipeline had him ranked similarly to De Los Santos (#9 3b prospect in baseball prior to the 2022 season
interesting i didnt remember him ranking that well recently. i do think that's probably close to where de los santos' best case value was, but having seen how much criticism vientos got even as he was consistently one of the best power hitters in AAA i can only imagine how his prospect status from there would have been viewed if he'd ever posted a AAA stretch with a rc at 85. seidler types have been calling him a fatally flawed non-prospect for like 2 years. i literally argued it directly with seidler as recently march right before the JDM signing lol.

Leaderboards still free. Not sure about roster resource.

the quality of their lists/articles has gone down hill enough that would be a big loss. i was already some level of member from their old donation program so i will probably try it for a year and post anything notable here.
i think the move is to go for scott on a 3 year x 40m or something like that.
diaz has shown this year they need a back up option at closer. having a lefty version of him is perfect.
where the brazoban and maton pickups are great is that they have some cost certainty for next year. garrett, butto, and hopefully nunez help with that too. possibly 1 of the youngs as well?
so unlike prior years they dont need 2 or 3 additions to the pen, i think they need 1 high end addition. id pick the lefty who throws almost 100 mph with a wipe out slider and a 52% ground ball rate. i just hope his 0 era in the postseason doesn't add another selling point to this list if we end up facing them next series.
I don't trust him being healthy long-term. What about Christian Scott? Do you put him in the rotation or the bullpen?

love to be wrong but I have a bad feeling Nunez is going to need TJ (his second). Guess we shall see.

2026 rotation if we have a spot. Have a long ways to go until then.
FWIW I haven't been told that Nunez needed TJ, rather "he won't be back any time soon". Now that may well have meant just 2024 but the fact he had a PRP injection, then was ruled out for the playoffs (almost a month ago) leads me to believe it's not great.

Jeff McNeil will play in the AFL on Friday and Saturday.
Carlos Mendoza said the Mets want to see him play back-to-back games of nine innings.

RHP Noah Hall is the first Mets Pitching Prospect to start in the AFL this year. He was named starting pitcher for this Friday's Game at 9:30 Eastern.

BREAKING: The Mets have dropped standing room down to $103.50 to get in Citi Field tonight. Cheapest price I have seen. Going to be a zoo. Be there. #LGM
So that’s the bad news for Senga. In his first start back after calf and triceps problems, he showed the third-worst fastball velocity of his career. At least he had decent ride (vertical movement), but by velocity it wasn’t a good game. And, as you can see from the whiff rates (the colors on the dots), he generally gets a lot more whiffs when he throws harder — a global trend that remains true for Senga in particular.

He'd look great in the Mets pen right now.
Such an under the radar trade paying dividends for KC. And he's cost controlled until 2030.

P.S. Happy 36th birthday to Starling Marte!
gotta keep working counts and putting suarez in uncomfortable positions. keep stretching their BP.
not happy with Jose or JD's at bats there. that was horrible.

yes lol
Anyone else think Pete hits one here?
nice full count walk from alonso to start him off. someone needs to get a big hit.
need JDM to come through here. veteran moment for a righty hitter.
What's Hoffmans read?
brutally so. i keep waiting for a JDM breakout but it may not be there. in the last 2 weeks his avg EV started to go up and his hh% is 53%, but it just hasnt clicked.
Strong inning by Q, wonder if he gets a shot at the 6th.
and on queue leadoff double from lindor. huge. phillies have a decision to make. vientos good vs suarez.
Leaving all those runs on base early might end this season
Let's fucking go.
If we don’t we deserve to lose this series
Gooooo
