Welcome to this best-of-seven National League Championship Series thread between the 6th seeded Mets (89-73) & the 1st seeded N.L. West Champion Dodgers (98-64).
All games for this series will be covered in this thread. The Dodgers had the best record in all of MLB during the regular season & beat the Mets during the regular season 4 times,
winning the regular season series 4 games to 2. The Mets will be looking for some payback against the Dodgers the same way they did against the Brewers & Phillies, who they also lost their regular season series against. Click

HERE to see the Mets’ 26-man roster for the NLCS. There is one change overall: IF/OF Jeff McNeil for Reliever Adam Ottavino. This will be the 3rd time the Mets and Dodgers have met in the playoffs. They met before in 1988, 2006, and 2015 with the Mets winning in 2006 and 2015. Their most painful playoff series loss ever though was arguably to the Dodgers in 1988. Click

Apparently, too long.
Gotta tip your cap to that
Hes the NLCS MVP
What a ride fellas, what a ride.
A lot of it in this series is their bottom order hitters producing while ours mostly haven't.
It ain’t over, but it sure feels over. We’ll see, I guess.

Never over with this team until the final out but they've sure made it difficult on themselves.
Insane to go to him with the season on the line.
Fuck yourself? Maton was our best RP the second half of the season. By far.
It's been a hell of a ride. We still have a sliver of hope...
Maybe I’m just being the eternal optimist.
Not saying I agree or disagree, but we can't call any further behind. I guess we go high leverage every time the top of the order appears.

Don't really get this move to bring in Diaz so early.

Yeah I don't even know if I disagree but thought they'd still wait till 7 or later.
Maybe he goes 2+ innings now. Pitch count isn't terrible.
Damn. That might have been it

Second time leaving empty handed with the bases loaded. Just can’t do that.
I'm confused...I've seen a lot of people talking about him not wanting to pitch. Did he really say that?
What a damn season though! OMG.
Absolutely loved this team. It will be hard to recreate this exact magic, but can't wait for the off-season and next season!
No interest in the World Series. Guess I'd rather the Dodgers win even though I dont find them likeable.
I have a few regrets about Winker’s lack of playing time at Citifield and messing around with Senga in game 1.
All in all though, I don’t see how anyone can kill this team or its manager. This was a valiant effort, it just sucks to get this close and miss out.
I have faith we’ll be back.
Thanks to every Mets fan here as well throughout the season with probably the best Mets discussion on the internet. Extra big thanks to Optimus for everything with the threads and keeping us up to date on all news.
Don't forget we're in the best position we've been in with an amazing owner and GM. Mendoza looks to be above average at manager. Whatever happens this off-season the team will be successful moving forward. Playoffs and going to the NLCS and further will now become the norm.
Cohen going to go apeshit with the spending this offseason I tend to think. He strikes me as a guy that now that he got close doesn't want to wait another 5 years to do it again.
But the spending will be smart and long-lasting with someone as good as Stearns in charge of it.
I am bitterly disappointed but not as sad as I was over some other losses over the years. There were many memorable moments this season that I will look back upon.
Some on here believe that overuse doesn't effect performance but its def does and if it goes for an elongated period time you go through dead arm.
He was fucking gassed man, and honestly so was Manaea, Stanek, and Garret.
i am pretty broken up that the season is over because it was a really fun team to watch. even in this loss every inning they were battling to get more runs even as the pitchers kept giving up tack on runs. right down to the end with 1 strike left.
happy for lindor, alonso, vientos and really the whole group. they all showed that they can play on the big stage and step up to the big moment. cant wait to see how stearns decides to spend the $100m+ coming free this offseason. and acuna, mauricio, jett, gilbert, sproat, even baty, etc in the spring. things looking very up.
