On paper at least, DAL/DET was waaaaay more appetizing. Would've loved to have seen Dallas get thrashed like that in primetime. Instead, NBC earned themselves a 17-7 barnburner b/w two plodding teams allergic to offense.

It doesn't work that way. FOX protected DAL-DET and CBS protected WSH-BAL. NBC wanted to flex, but there weren't any good options.

As a fan, I really don’t care about records or superbowls. I just want to watch good football. 10 years ago, I used to get excited for the giants to play during prime time.
It was a bonus if it was a game within the division. Across the league, games against divisional rivals are close and hard fought games. Thats not the case with the Giants. It’s a double whammy if it’s a divisional game during prime time.
