But our inability, I would say this game, to generate explosive plays, whether that’s through the run or through the air is not where I want it to be right now. So, we’ll keep doing it. Keep calling them.
So just keep doing it and hope it gets better? Must say that's asking quite a lot of the fans.
BRIAN DABOLL: Well, that’s what you’re always trying to do with a quarterback, whether it’s completion plays, chunk plays, quarterback runs, move the pocket, screens. Again, you touch the ball on every play and your goal as a quarterback is to come out of that game making a proper decision on every play. Certainly, that’s not going to happen all the time. Daniel, like I’ve said plenty of times, he’ll do everything he can to be as good as he can be.
I'm completely tapped out on Jones working hard.
Here's an idea - make more plays, jackass.
He needs to throw in more wrinkles into his play designs.
I mean read his answers. He has no solutions. He isnt even trying. Everything is fine. Doing ok, everyone playing ok, progressing, just clean stuff up etc
It reminds of his answer on Singletary fumble a few weeks ago
I mean look at his responses. This team is 2-4 and scoring 16 ppg. He is 8-15 over his last 2 years here
Can you sense any urgency whatsoever or any recognition that there is even a problem?
Does that seem like the responses of a guy whose offense scored 7 pts vs the 31st ranked to fall to about a 1% playoff chance?
How can the Head Coach have any real answers/solutions in what is a Daniel Jones transition year? He's doing the best he can while biding his time as his GM finds a new QB to draft in 2025.
In a quiet moment I’m sure off the record he would state the obvious what we see during the game. This is all coaches speak with the media.
I’m sure he has had those conversations with Schoen .
This team plays with a flat tire every week on offense.
They better draft their QB or sign a FA QB this coming offseason
This is the definition of insanity right now
Hard to watch….

Quiet tanking?
We need to draft one of the top 5 QBs (or maybe even top 6)
Then we can make Jones the "director of working hard" and have him teach the new QB about watching tape, coming into the facility early, and speaking to the media.
a tizzy over what a coach says publicly? He's not going to blame a player, coach or management. He's not going to say that the world is coming to an end.
We need to fix it
We need to clean that up
We need to play better

Daboll's not going anywhere. Fans want him to give voice to their own anger. That's not his job. He does these press conferences because he has to, but he's not going to say what you want him to say. If he has solutions, other than "the guys have to play better," he's not going to say them at a press conference. He's going to say whatever seems to best support his coaching. Like it, hate it, whatever.
Coughlin's pressers weren't satisfying, either. Belichik's were famously unsatisfying. If you're winning, people just roll their eyes about it. If you're losing...

Exactly!
You forgot:
We have to coach better
that is always thrown in there too
no truth. Just stop the ignorant diatribes. Daboll has no answers? Ok. Can't throw the ball for the QB. Plays were there. QB didn't execute.
Old adage - you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.
Jones needs to go. That is the answer. They knew it. Now the owner knows it. Every part of the team is set up to compete, except QB. That is the truth.

Couldn’t agree more… Every freaking week people react to these press conferences like they were expecting actual hard truths to come out. It’s Pablum for the masses. Whatever they’re trying to do they’re doing it in house and they’re not gonna tell us about it before hand.
Having said that, I doubt they actually have any real answers, given the current state of affairs at the quarterback position.
There was a reason they were prodding the Patriots
for Maye. They know what Jones is and I believe they were looking for a cheaper better version of Jones. No matter what he says in a press conference they know what they need. I have to believe this.
because I've never seen a coach fall on the sword for such a middling player that's actively threatening his career prospectives.
There was no reason for him to take the blame for the shitty INT. I have no idea why he's doing that. I don't understand why no one with this ball club will be demanding of the QB.
Oh its the weapons. Oh its the playcalling. Oh its the OL
We cant evaluate.,,yada yada yada as the losses and lack of productivity piled on. Some at historically bad levels.
Now with Daboll/Schoen.
Oh they really dont like Jones. Oh they are forced. They are just playing it out. Oh what else are they supposed to say.
While you ignore the massive heap of actual evidence that they are complicit in this. They signed him. They have drafted anyone. They haven’t brought in any competition. The pile of massive amounts of excuses and praise
They are complicit in being stuck with Jones and having no alternative.
They are currently ignoring that DeVito/Taylor went 5-6 with more production than the 3-9 Jones has had in last 2 seasons
That is the only answer that makes any sense here whatsoever. And yes, even he will screw that up from time to time since there are so many bad teams right now in the NFL.

Play Jones at home with his miserable home record and Lock on the road.
That might get us to a 4-13 record at this point.

Yes. Except for the Steelers game given DJ's extraordinary capacity to lose in Prime Time.
Jones needs to go. That is the answer. They knew it. Now the owner knows it. Every part of the team is set up to compete, except QB. That is the truth.

What data says that is true?
Jones is 3-9 over last 2 seasons with 8 TDs and 10 INTs in 12 games including 3 pick 6s
DeVito is 3-3 in last 2 seasons with 8 TDs and 3 INTs

My boss told me to never admire the problem for too long. What I like the most is that Daboll is sarcastic with the media and acts like we are all stupid for asking questions because we care for our team. Mr. Daboll, if you are a good coach, you know what the tape shows, you know the problem, so either admit it and say we cannot fix it this year so we are doing the best we can with what we have; and you have a nice guy for a qb with no talent; end.
What does any coach gain by being honest that way?
he has basically sounded like a guy who has very LOW expectations of his QB and that he tries to scheme his way around the glaring deficiencies he has. That said, I think it is a mistake now and I have my own thoughts and plans on what I would do going forward- on our next podcast.
I mean read his answers. He has no solutions. He isnt even trying. Everything is fine. Doing ok, everyone playing ok, progressing, just clean stuff up etc

He's showing ownership that the team is limited by the QB they pay $40M a year and that a change needs to be made.
RE: What does any coach gain by being honest that way?
I almost sense he fought against it, but was told by Schoen/Mara to just try and make it work this year. Like its all we can get you now, your job is safe, do your best and we will get you a QB next year (draft or FA).

I think that was the deal when they picked Nabers. The question is how much did he object to this.

Here's an idea - make more plays, jackass.
The GM has to realize that Jones makes the players he drafted look bad, the coach definitely knows Jones makes his schemes look bad.
Losing by ten thousand cuts accomplishes nothing, and clouds the picture for the select few, unfortunately the owner is one of them.

Astounding to me how much emphasis people place on this crap.
Everyone should save their time, money and energy and just eliminate these PCs once and for all. They are completely worthless.
