Anyone else like what they see from this kid? He reminds me of Josh Allen. What pick do you see him going at? He is 6-5 235lbs moves really well and throws on the run.
He was pretty good last year and better this year outside of Saturdays game against USC. But there was such a hype around him as a freshman that he hasn't lived up to.
He has all the physical attributes you want in a QB. I'd like to see how he finishes they year. But he's also only 20yrs old. IF he's smart he should stay in school another year.
but a still to-be-determined what kind of price tag we can put on his mind.
In my view, the best thing Allar could do would be to transfer out of Happy Valley and to a program with better coaching/development for QBs.
I love the hiring of Kotelnicki as the OC - see some of the plays he drew up Saturday at USC - but neither he or Franklin or O'Brien have any history of developing QBs for the NFL.
And while Allar may have Allen's size, he is nowhere near the otherworldly athlete Allen is.
but whats your opinion on him? I see the Giants picking mid draft.
According to Mel KIper projections (yes I know but it is a datapoint), at least 3 of the top 5 QBs should still be there mid-first round. He currently has Ewers, Beck, and Milroe all going last 1st. He has Ward and Sanders going in the "first round" (not late first like the others), so they may be around too
TE under C and Pribula taking snaps is just part of PSU's array of formations. Has nothing to do with Allar's capabilities. You don't watch much PSU football . . .

The USC was probably the best game of his career. He faced adversity and didn’t wilt. One pick was not really on him and another was a Hail Mary. He will be in a much better position staying in school another year. I see more Allen than Collins who was a statue. Allar can move.
I have stated my opinion on him many times here as a Penn stater. Nice attributes all around and while he isn't a runner, he has mobility. He just can't put it all together. Last year having such a shitty line didn't help, but this year he's been underwhelming again. I agree with Simms, Saturday was probably the best he's looked even if the Stat sheet doesn't look that way.
In the game against Illinois, they had the TE taking QB snaps on 3rd down.
He was terrible in that game and Illinois isn't any good.
You mean 5-1 number 22 ranked Illinois? The TE (first round draft choice Warren -ex QB) didn't throw a pass and ran the ball twice. Allar completed 71% of his passes that game. Maybe you are thinking of a different game.
What Daboll wants in a QB, big, huge arm, and mobile. He’s super young at just 20 years old so he will need development. I wouldn’t mind getting him and letting him sit behind an experience veteran (not named Daniel Jones… lol)

He can make any throw he's just a slow footed slow processor with streaky accuracy. Just sign another vet.
I agree that to pass on McCarthy and Penix to take Allar would be a head scratcher to me

Tyler Smith, TE for PSU, played QB in high school. He is a great all-around player who they run the wildcat with. He should be up for the Heisman.

Sorry...Tyler Warren.

There's no QB so far I'd be looking at early 1st round.
Agree
