and how much Rodgers leans on him. Wilson should remain the clear WR1. But, you mean to tell me Adams isn't an upgrade over Lazard at WR2, even with the decent resurgence he is having? That slides Williams to WR4 or worse. Unless Adams is a diva and/or Rodgers force feeds him the ball, this should improve their team.
That said, their biggest issue remains protecting Rodgers, which likely isn't getting solved in-season.
One winning streak and they are right back in it. Jets have a good D. Decent QB play even if Rodgers is a dip shit asshole and fading talent and very good RBs. They can't get hot? Why? Because it's the same old jets?
What the hell do they have to lose by making this move? The pros out weight the cons here. Even the Jets talkies just said "if they won last night i'd be excited for this move but not now"---WTF? So 3-3 it's fine. 2-4 is a laughably desperate move.
and people mocking the jets. They traded a 3rd round pick for a great player. At least they are trying.
You telling me Adams can't help this team go from 8 wins to 10?
I wish the Giants acted with desperation once in a while. Sometimes desperation is warranted. We're talking one mid round pick. I don't suppose NYG even considered upping a position from good on its best day to great...and no way in hell they could re-sign this guy to a short big deal in the offseason. God forbid the Giants pay 3-4 guys on offense.
Whatever. Don't ever panic there Giants. Everything is just fine.
I don't often compliment the Giants these days, but even they are smart enough to realize a WR isn't changing anything for them.
So a good player can't help a struggling offense.
Forget the Jones crap for one second. OK fine he's the worst thing since rotten milk. Adams here is a bad thing? Why? HE's got YEARS left in his career. 2-3 easy barring catastrophe. I give up. Fine we don't need another impact player for the cost of peanuts.

That's some serious logic at work.
Agreed, especially with their division. They could potentially run the table with the rest of their division games. They just went to to toe with the best team in the division and they are better than the other 2. The Jets 2-4 is a lot different than our 2-4 as currently constituted.

They have enough weapons to win. Trading draft capital when they will desperately need a qb at seasons end is short sighted. Rodgers won't survive the year behind Smith at LT. And will likely leave the jets high and dry at seasons end when it implodes.
I am not even specifically saying Adams should be a Giant
I don't want to die on that hill. My point is this franchise rarely does shit like this. They never take risks like this. They still refuse to field a top dominant unit. Won't win many games that way. The D shows promise. Will it be this good next year? Will they replace Ojulari who you just KNOW they are letting walk...

Up until recently, you constantly defend the trash that this team has been for a decade.
Re: the jets, you're probably one of those guys that thought the Jets defense is comparable to the 1985 Bears. Those were some hilarious times.
I forgot, bringing any shred of hope into a season is BAD. Fans with hope = BAD. We're the problem. No hope allowed. IF you hope for wins you're an idiot fan who shouldn't be taken seriously. His or her take = invalid.
Sound about right ? Maybe just engage with the folks you deem as experts around here and pay me no mind. Thx.

he’s declined of course, but his throws were on target and has plenty of arm strength still. For a 3rd rounder, when you’ve already invested so much, this is pretty low risk high reward. They will also get a pick for Reddick which may offset this, or even come out ahead.
They should have done this trade 1-2 weeks ago, that’s the part that hurts. They’d have 3 or 4 wins right now if they did.

Dude wtf are you trying to prove? I have been crushing the team most of the season. Have I been trumpeting playoffs being a lock? I predicted 8 fucking wins. Relax.
Rodgers bizarrely calling out his teammates after throwing a ridiculous pick just before the 2-min warning can’t be going over well in that locker room. As always with A-Aron, it’s never his fault.
Adams makes the WR group better, but I’d watch Wilson. I don’t think he and Rodgers get along, and him losing targets to Adams could cause some trouble. This could become a dumpster fire that will make the Giants look like the Goodship Lollipop.
I have gone to 2 total NYG games over the last 4 years. I used to go to 4-6 per season.
I don't buy merchandise. I don't go to games. I leave the house on Sundays and watch on DVR at times when in the past that was unthinkable.
I post hopeful takes at times because that's how I want to live life as a fan. I hope for the best and bend the fuck over week in week out for the last 10-12 years now--prepping for the typical results.

I know WTF is going on.
I'm just as disgusted djm. Same thing. Used to go to 4-6 a year. Haven't been to the stadium since 2019 now. I do see talent on the team this year though and what looks like a great draft class. We're hopefully not that far off. A new qb, if the right qb, can change this around quickly.

The biggest problem with Wilson is he thinks he is better than he actually is. I don't believe he's in the same class as Chase, Jefferson, CeeDee, Tyreke, Nabers, London etc. He has to make the tough catches he routinely doesn't make. He's a good player but far from the great player he sees himself as.
that an essential component to winning in the NFL is fielding a dominant unit. Meaning you need an identity, to steal a cliche. I have been screaming this (despite apparently being asleep or blind to the problems here) for years and years now. You want wins? You need a dominant OL, or a dominant WRs core / passing game (aware of the QB) or a dominant defense. And I believe that a great group of WRs will in fact help any QB, good, average, bad or great.
Maybe this wasn't the time to make that move it probably wasn't. Ill wait...
I like this trade for the Jets. I think they can make the playoffs, and their window (which I don't think is all that big to start with) is this year and maybe next. Go for it now and try to get hot at the right time.
My guess is they finish with 8-10 wins, maybe make the playoffs and get bounced in the first round and this doesn't work out for them. But it increases the odds a little.
RE: RE: I mean why not, imo Jets should go all in right now
hopefully they will be entertaining to watch because the Giants are friggin dull.
All in? Why? They have the same record as the boring Giants, have a 40 year old QB who spends most of their games looking like he's having to sit through a meeting at work when he's not getting his head pounded into the turf, and they could be giving up a 2nd rounder for a disgruntled WR. That doesn't scream all in to me. Fire sale would be the better move.
If you're Joe Douglas and you're about to get fired, what have you got to lose?
than they did during any other game this season. Saleh was awful, that was problem #1. Problem 2 is limiting mistakes and building some momentum - who knows if that happens but Adams fills a huge need IMO.

I don't know, the guy who had 2,200 yards and 7 TD's over 2 seasons with some of the worst QB'ing in the NFL deserves to think he is pretty good.
It's all about winning Super Bowls
Go for it while the window is still open
They have a great defense
If they can put it together - they can beat anyone
Oh, but kind of fuck them too...they are the Jets
on the hook for 70+ million for the 2025 and 2026 season for Adams right? They fully picked up his salary from the Raiders. They have a lot of money tied up in the wr position between Wilon, Williams, Lazard and Adams. Money would have been better spent bolstering the lines.
couldn’t care less myself what the predictions are. When I look at the Jets I see a capable team that’s got a number of issues (this fixes one), and a whole bunch of sunk costs. This a low risk move to salvage the season, especially with the kind of schedule they have remaining. That defense has (other than week 1) and should continue to keep them in every game this season. Offense and special teams need to make plays.
I’ve already admitted time will tell if it’s too late, but they aren’t punting the season week 7, so might as well go for it.

This. For all you moral victory posters out there, the kicker hit the post twice or the Jets are the winners. They outgained the Bills last night, in a game with 200 yards in penalties, and obviously Rodgers can still throw. The Jets have no chain mover; Wilson has been doing that and taking a beating for his troubles. Conklin sucks and Lazard is nothing special. So, adding Adams for practically nothing to take the short passes and some of the heat off Wilson is not a negative.
And where is Joe ZZZZZchoen? He's got the worst qb room in the League outside of Cleveland and is losing games because there is no kicker. In fact, why isn't Adams here since the price was low so Nabors isn't getting killed catching 5 yard passes?
Rodgers is on the books in 2025, so unless you can get another team to trade for him and start over (you can’t), then trying to improve the roster still makes sense at this point. Adam’s probably has no show at earning AP honors so this won’t become a 2nd unless they reach the AFCC - do you know a Jet fan who wouldn’t pay a 2nd for a AFCC birth?
RE: The only one that seems to care about hype is you

You said this last year, as well. Some of you guys on here always think the Jets have a chance. It's extremely odd, especially when you've been wrong about them every single time.
great contribution. Should have know you didn’t care to talk football and I guess that’s what you meant by your earlier comment calling people out under disguise.

It's not 'I told you so'. You're a good poster. But when people are constantly wrong with their takes about a certain team, at some point, you'd think they'd learn.
Im not putting money on the Jets and don’t root for them. This move either works out well and they go on a run or it crashes and burns and I get to laugh at it.
I already said they waited too long, but their schedule is easy enough where winning 7 of their next 11 is completely possible. And they are on they are on the hook for Rodgers on 2025 so unless you can unload him there’s not much downside in trading for Adams.

And it probably keeps AR happy - because if things went south I can see him just retiring. Or trying to get out of NY.

Apparently you’ve already forgotten that the Giants just did, in fact, make a major trade like this. Brian Burns ring a bell?
he’s going to get a healthy contract from someone and that shouldn’t be us. In fact, we should start finding out who’s interested in Reddick and see about undercutting that and offering Ojulari.
That said, their biggest issue remains protecting Rodgers, which likely isn't getting solved in-season.
What the hell do they have to lose by making this move? The pros out weight the cons here. Even the Jets talkies just said "if they won last night i'd be excited for this move but not now"---WTF? So 3-3 it's fine. 2-4 is a laughably desperate move.
That's some serious logic at work.
Because playing with Rodgers gives him the best chance possible to get him one final contract before his career is over.

And short of getting an offensive lineman, he went with familiarity for AR in a WR he connects with.
Jets just have that look of a team going to self destruct.
Buffalo pounded them last night at the LOS.

Thx.
Have all the hope you want, but it's pretty obvious the team has been trash for along time now. Wake the fuck up.
Dude wtf are you trying to prove? I have been crushing the team most of the season. Have I been trumpeting playoffs being a lock? I predicted 8 fucking wins. Relax.
Adams makes the WR group better, but I’d watch Wilson. I don’t think he and Rodgers get along, and him losing targets to Adams could cause some trouble. This could become a dumpster fire that will make the Giants look like the Goodship Lollipop.

Maybe this wasn't the time to make that move it probably wasn't. Ill wait...
My guess is they finish with 8-10 wins, maybe make the playoffs and get bounced in the first round and this doesn't work out for them. But it increases the odds a little.

hopefully they will be entertaining to watch because the Giants are friggin dull.
All in?
Let's not forget, they got lucky with a hailmary, too. This game was alot worse than what the scoreboard looks like.

Rodgers bizarrely calling out his teammates after throwing a ridiculous pick just before the 2-min warning can’t be going over well in that locker room. As always with A-Aron, it’s never his fault.

I don't know, the guy who had 2,200 yards and 7 TD's over 2 seasons with some of the worst QB'ing in the NFL deserves to think he is pretty good.

You can say the same for the Bills, a Super Bowl contender.
Go for it while the window is still open
They have a great defense
If they can put it together - they can beat anyone
Oh, but kind of fuck them too...they are the Jets

with all of their penalties and lack of discipline. So much better.

Nowhere near the level of hype the Jets have had the past 2 years. And last time I checked, they're 4-2, not 2-4.
I’ve already admitted time will tell if it’s too late, but they aren’t punting the season week 7, so might as well go for it.
And where is Joe ZZZZZchoen? He's got the worst qb room in the League outside of Cleveland and is losing games because there is no kicker. In fact, why isn't Adams here since the price was low so Nabors isn't getting killed catching 5 yard passes?

You said this last year, as well. Some of you guys on here always think the Jets have a chance. It's extremely odd, especially when you've been wrong about them every single time.
I love the hamstring question and answer.

It's not 'I told you so'. You're a good poster. But when people are constantly wrong with their takes about a certain team, at some point, you'd think they'd learn.

Keep drafting I guess.
Apparently you’ve already forgotten that the Giants just did, in fact, make a major trade like this. Brian Burns ring a bell?
