bad news for Garrett, he's the reason I won the last 2 weeks

Adams is going to demand the ball and he is not better then G. Wilson at this point in his career.
Jets get what they deserve with these moves they should be trading for a Left Tackle or any O-lineman .
Is a housecleaning for the Jets
OlyWABigBlue : 10/15/2024 10:28 am : link
really a housecleaning?

It's gotta suck for the players who came up with the org seeing all the displaced Packers eating up so much of the available salary dollars.

Mike Williams stinks now, so you are pushing him out and inserting one of the best WRs over the last 7/8 years making plays on the ball like the one he slipped on llast night. Plenty of targets for Wilson and Adams, with Lazard going back to being a top tier WR3.

It’s a desperate move, but it does move the needle. We’ll see if it’s too little too late though.
Rodgers was completely crushed several times last night.

How many more games before he doesn't scrape himself off the turf?

Over/under 2.5 games.

Doesn't much matter who's running routes out there.

All in? Why? They have the same record as the boring Giants, have a 40 year old QB who spends most of their games looking like he's having to sit through a meeting at work when he's not getting his head pounded into the turf, and they could be giving up a 2nd rounder for a disgruntled WR. That doesn't scream all in to me. Fire sale would be the better move.

Jets GM Aaron Rodgers...

has been very busy these last 24 hours.

I guess Assistant GM Joe Douglas verified they could make DA's salary work under their current cap situation.
I am once again asking the Giants
bceagle05 : 10/15/2024 10:46 am : link
to sign DJ Reed this spring as a FA. Now with Adams on board with Rodgers, and Sauce and Wilson nearing big second contracts, he is likely a luxury the Jets can’t afford. We all saw how desperate Schoen was on Hard Knocks for another CB.

How much longer is he gonna play after this season? I can't see him retiring after this year, but I can after next if this continues. What a mess, lol. Having said all that, I think Adams will help them a lot. If they make the playoffs, they can do damage. Right now though, they're their own worst enemies. Who's the leader over there?

They have Adams now! Playoff bound!
So here is what you now have
jvm52106 : 10/15/2024 10:56 am : link
Wilson
Williams (who Rodgers threw under the bus)
Lazard
Adams

The locker room destruction is well under way already. Rodgers is an injury waiting to happen.

Jets schedule:

@ Pitts
@NE
Texans
@ AZ
Colts
Seahawks
@ Mia
@ Jax
LAR
@Buff
Mia

their schedule is not horrible but I see a couple losses in the next few games and that might be enough to end their season. Having Miami later in the season may actually backfire for them is TUA does return. @ Buffalo second to last week is no picnic either.
Might as well continue to go All In
Lines of Scrimmage : 10/15/2024 11:03 am : link
AR seems to be impacted much more by hits at this point and this move may help him get the ball out quicker.

@ AZ (W, 4-6)
Colts (W, 5-6)
Seahawks (W, 6-6)
@ Mia (L, 6-7)
@ Jax (W, 7-7)
LAR (W, 8-7)
@Buff (L, 8-8)
Mia (W, 9-8)

Trade condition update: The conditional third-round pick the Jets are trading to the Raiders for Davante Adams becomes a second if any of the following happen, per source:

🏈Adams must be 1st- or 2nd-team AP all pro

Per Schefter.

Either be a top 6 WR this year, or the Jets use this trade to roll to the final 4. Better than a meaningless counting stat condition if the Jets are out of it by year end.

You telling me Adams can't help this team go from 8 wins to 10?

I wish the Giants acted with desperation once in a while. Sometimes desperation is warranted. We're talking one mid round pick. I don't suppose NYG even considered upping a position from good on its best day to great...and no way in hell they could re-sign this guy to a short big deal in the offseason. God forbid the Giants pay 3-4 guys on offense.

Whatever. Don't ever panic there Giants. Everything is just fine.

I don't often compliment the Giants these days, but even they are smart enough to realize a WR isn't changing anything for them.
I don't know, I guess it depends on how Adams acts
Matt M. : 10/15/2024 11:59 am : link
and how much Rodgers leans on him. Wilson should remain the clear WR1. But, you mean to tell me Adams isn't an upgrade over Lazard at WR2, even with the decent resurgence he is having? That slides Williams to WR4 or worse. Unless Adams is a diva and/or Rodgers force feeds him the ball, this should improve their team.

That said, their biggest issue remains protecting Rodgers, which likely isn't getting solved in-season.
since when does 2-4 mean season over??
djm : 10/15/2024 11:59 am : link
One winning streak and they are right back in it. Jets have a good D. Decent QB play even if Rodgers is a dip shit asshole and fading talent and very good RBs. They can't get hot? Why? Because it's the same old jets?

What the hell do they have to lose by making this move? The pros out weight the cons here. Even the Jets talkies just said "if they won last night i'd be excited for this move but not now"---WTF? So 3-3 it's fine. 2-4 is a laughably desperate move.

That's some serious logic at work.

Agreed, especially with their division. They could potentially run the table with the rest of their division games. They just went to to toe with the best team in the division and they are better than the other 2. The Jets 2-4 is a lot different than our 2-4 as currently constituted.

They have enough weapons to win. Trading draft capital when they will desperately need a qb at seasons end is short sighted. Rodgers won't survive the year behind Smith at LT. And will likely leave the jets high and dry at seasons end when it implodes.
I am not even specifically saying Adams should be a Giant
djm : 10/15/2024 12:06 pm : link
I don't want to die on that hill. My point is this franchise rarely does shit like this. They never take risks like this. They still refuse to field a top dominant unit. Won't win many games that way. The D shows promise. Will it be this good next year? Will they replace Ojulari who you just KNOW they are letting walk...

Keep drafting I guess.
