Bold prediction for the pod: Eric says-considering Thomas' injury-we have no choice but to run it back with Jones in 2025 because it wouldn't be fair to poor Daniel to not have Andrew @ LT. :-)
This is my worry. The single best thing for the Giants would be for Eluemunor to do a good job at LT and either Ezeudu or Neal to step up at RT and Jones to continue doing what he does, which is suck.
Ezeudu was meh to bad at LT last year. Unless Bricillo is really confident he's improved, why give him a crack? Neal had his success as a LT after t er all
isn't getting fired. I suspect he has a free pass this year
due to the qb situation. He wanted a QB in the last draft.
The price was to high for the front office.
He also is playing Jones,,,,,which makes Mara happy.
Schoel is up down but I like the last draft.
The roster is better....held back by....you guessed it.
If this is used as an excuse to bring back Jones next season, I'm out. I'm not even kidding. I'll watch the NFL, but not one second of the Giants. If the Giants are idiotic enough to bring back Jones in '25 as the unquestioned starter/a Lock-DeVito like backups, this organization isn't serious about winning & not one worth watching one second of football.

At some point it becomes insulting to the fans' intelligence. (I mean, it already is, but it just gets worse.)

You joke, but you know just as well as me that we can't rule out another excuse to bring back Jones for a seventh tryout.
I have a feeling Shamrocks, Stroud, et al are heading out to buy champagne right now.
So it's frustrating to see them continue that charade.
I'd play Eluemunor at LT and Neal at RT. Very interested in when they pull the Daniel Jones plug with the injury guarantee in their forefront. They absolutely cannot risk that. Play DeVito, Lock doesn't really solve anything. At least with Cutlets he could serve as a bridge next summer.
We're way past insulting to our intelligence. We're in the 'Fuck what the facts say, that Jones is a bad QB. Fuck the fans, who are sick of losing. Fuck all of that...stop bitching & enjoy your medium Pepsi.'
No doubt. This is all they need to justify bringing Jones back in '25. 'Thomas went down 6 games into the season! It'd be unfair to judge Daniel without him @ LT!'
I seriously can already hear it. The sad thing is Mara probably feels the same.

Yeah I know we already got that earlier this year from Giants State Media, but I was hoping that THIS would be the year they finally give up on the charade. I myself am unsure how I could bear it if they keep it up.
cooked already. I think Schoen and Daboll saw what they needed to see with a good line and good WRs...he still is unable to run a high powered offense.
Shit, he could have been medium powered and would have beaten Dallas and Cincy.

Assuming Thomas misses extended time, the Giants need to move Jermaine Eluemunor to LT. Josh Ezeudu and Evan Neal would be the options at RT. I’d expect Ezeudu to get the first crack at RT (or LT if they keep Eluemunor at RT).
The Giants had all five OL play 100% of the snaps in the first six games. A major shakeup coming.
It’s his natural position anyway. I honestly feel half the issue with him is they assumed he could just adapt to RT in the NFL and he hasn’t been able to do that. It’s a totally different position.
Watch him play LT and look great.
Was thinking this same thing. Possible a better LT than a RT
It would be that Neal bounces back on the left side. Even if his future isn’t here maybe they can flip him but at least they might be able to salvage something out of it.

Wait, why? Why would Ezeudu get the first crack?
Because Neal hasn't taken a snap at LT in years. You either play Ezeudu or Elumunor at LT.

Eric, maybe next week, sure. But before long it would be wise to see what Neal can do there.

He played a year at G, a year at RT and a year at LT in college and the last 2 years exclusively at RT. We can hope he’s a natural LT but he certainly hasn’t played there very much.
Sink or swim time for Evan. I still he'd be best suited @ guard, but here we are.
You try to make as few changes as possible.
Moving Eleumenor doesn't fix anything if Neal still sucks. You're just playing whack-a-mole. Ezeudu likely isn't good either, but the situation is what it is.

To be clear, it’s just my belief that Ezeudu is ahead of Neal on the depth chart. Daboll and Bricillo haven’t answered when asked. Neal missed so much time that he was behind Ezeudu when he returned during camp. We’ll find out if Neal made up ground in-season. I’m skeptical
I'm telling you how this is going to go down. The reporters too.
I'd be shocked if they play him at LT. If you really want to mess with his head, I guess that's a plan.
The concern with Neal should be less about his head and more about finding ways to salvage a top 10 draft pick. I’m sure Neal’s attitude would be exactly that, otherwise we drafted the wrong guy.
How does a David Diehl, late round draft pick out of Illinois make a career out of playing 4 positions on the line on a whim as needed.
Enough with this shit. If Neal’s head can’t handle getting ramped up and playing LT over the next 3 weeks then he is truly a bust.

Diehl prepared for the switch.
I'm not saying it is impossible that Neal doesn't play there eventually, but I wouldn't count on it. At least not for a while.

It's pretty obvious at this point that at least part of the issue with neal *is* his head. He has every physical tool needed to have success. He's not the first offensive linemen without dancer's feet.
Andrew Thomas is another guy who has trouble staying on the field

So then what you’re saying, and I’m not sure if you agree with this or not, is that the Giants spent a top 10 draft pick on a guy to play RT, except to date he hasn’t played RT well at all and he ultimately lost that spot, and now we not only refuse to play him at guard, but we also can’t try him out at the LT spot now vacated by our injured All Pro…because we don’t “think” he can do it? It’s no wonder we suck. Where is the sense of urgency? If Neal doesn’t get back in the field soon it’s all over and the draft pick is flushed.
Listen to the podcast tonight.

At least he’s played there and played well, unlike Ezeudu before last year when he got Jonese head almost taken off by Van Ginkle.
