during their 100th season.
It's dampened what could've been a much more enjoyable celebration of what has mostly been a very historically significant franchise.

Surprisingly the Giants have never had a good season during an anniversary season...
25th: 6-6
50th: 2-12
75th: 7-8
90th: 6-10
For anyone under 45: You know how you feel about John Mara?
That's how we geezers (60+) feel about Wellington Mara.
Nice man. Awful at running anything to do with actual football.
The 70s were like the last 10 years, but worse. We all know the story.
He eventually found his niche but I'm not interested in spending a lot of time from my life watching a movie about his.
Wellington passed over Lombardi & traded the heart of the Giants defense Sam Huff for Dick freaken James! The Huff trade crushed me! That to me ushered in the wilderness years until Rozelle stepped in…

Was that Wellington or his brother Jack? I thought Jack ran the football side until his death, or shortly before. Lombardi joined the packers in Feb. 59. Huff was traded in 64. Jack died in 65.

Correct. When Wellington or John were involved in the football side of things, Giants were a shitshow. The only time the Giants were good was when the Maras had to cede football operations to an actual, honest to God, qualified football person. Is it any wonder we're a shitshow again with Johnny numnuts running things.

It's the 100th anniversary of 1925 Giants Way. The league and the Maras want the fluffiest piece possible.
