Wonder who goes ( Hyatt, Jones, ???)and if this rumor has legs.
NY Giants trading for former Pro Bowl QB isn't as wild as you might think
Maybe the Giants trading for Matthew Stafford could work after all...
New York Giants trade rumors have caught fire after Matthew Stafford Giants trade rumors hit X/Twitter. Matthew Stafford trade rumors started when Fansided listed the New York Giants as the #1 Matt Stafford trade destination. With Daniel Jones on the team does a Matt Stafford Giants trade make sense for Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll? NY
Thoughts?
+1
Technically speaking I think the math works, and still allows us to draft our next QB. It’s also an immediate upgrade though I think with 5 losses this is just too late.
No recommendation please.
If we're in the bizaro world where teams are willing to trade their Franchise QB to the Giants for anyone on the Giants roster, why not just shoot for the moon and get Mahommes? They can have anyone they want in return.
I would rather, however, have a younger QB who is a dual threat and leverage a rookie contract.
Anyone remember Lou ? I think not .
I think they should draft the QB with the best ability to play from the pocket under pressure in either next years draft or the year after. Hard winning a SB without that.
Stafford a few years ago with the right HC (not this one) would have been great.
I am so starved for a real quarterback!
And who the hell would trade for Jones?
I am so starved for a real quarterback!
I know that is the sentiment of most of the BBI board, but I do wonder if that opinion exists in the rest of the fanbase beyond BBI. I really can't tell.
When I do go watch Giants games at bars, the non-Giants fans couldn't be less impressed with Jones.
I don't know...how about good QB play for 2-3 seasons?
NO? We don't want that?
Sound familiar? That is precisely what the Giants did when they signed Warner and drafted Eli.
I actually like the idea. Jones would not provide mentorship. And all you have to do is look at Darnold to see what damage can be done by starting a rookie in NY from day 1.
However, I would love it. You can still draft a QB and kick the tires on Stafford.
Anyone remember Lou ? I think not .
The YA trade was in 1961, not 1964.
And it should be noted that Title's record at age 38 was 1-8-2, which is the age Stafford would be in 2026.
Almost all the all-time great QBs (except for Brady and Brees) fell of a cliff (stats and record-wise) somewhere in the 36-38 year range.
I laughed too hard at this.
Of course I'd put the odds of Stafford ending up a Giant the same of me sharing a bed with Jessica Alba tonight.
It's the draft where Schoen will focus.
Atlanta did the same when they signed cousins and then drafted their QB
You guys are assuming that trading for Stafford means we stop looking for our QB in the draft. Don't you think the giants know how old Stafford is? Or do they have to log into BBI to figure out what to do next?
who writes this stuff?
