Expectation is normal regular season rotation, which we havnt seen yet..
Does Thibs go with Payne, Deuce, Precious and Sims with Bridges? or does Thibs maybe go with 2 starters on the court at all times?
I dont trust Sims at all so i would lean Bridges and Kat with the second unit
Knicks @ Wizards - 7 pm EDT start - MSG feed (strfish.xyz) - ( New Window )
Sims is the opposite. I’m not sure Red Auerbach himself could make that guy look like an nba player

Showing how Thibs seems to elevate big men’s games . Achiuwa’s game has improved noticeably since coming to NY

Sims is just not very good. One could still say that he’s even got this much out of him is impressive. Sims very easily could have never seen NBA minutes with any other organization.
Bridges isn't a good three point shooter, but KAT is so his shot should come. I'm way more worried about the defense. Bridges and Hart are missing assignments and Sims is an abject disaster.
Can't wait for Tuesday!
I don't think so, Deuce is getting a rest day and Thibs has gone 10 deep, which won't happen in the regular season.
Dadiet may just be an NBA player, and he's only 19!
Yea, I think Hart is going to end up coming out of the starting lineup at some point because he's really playing the role/taking the space Bridges should be.
He and Donte are almost identical career % from three which is largely why Donte was expendable. Donte just had a career year as a Knick and why trading him when they did made a lot of sense.
Terrible trade. Then again the Knicks have a long history of terrible trades, so this one barely registeres in the history of the team.

I may have been Randles biggest fan that posts here but the reality is that Randle was going to be a free agent after this season, better get value for him now then chance losing him for nothing. Couple that with losing IHart and it was a smart move to make
Well, I hope the Wizards compete for the Playoffs
KAT and Bridges have yet to shown that they can be reliable perimeter shooters. We've seen they can do that on other teams. Hopefully it's just rust.

So you were going to play Randle at the 5? You were going to pay him 45 to 50 million a year..
and no Randle is not better than KAT, literally there is nothing Randle is better than KAT at on the court..
KAT is also a much better fit than zrandle was

You also realize their spacing is better now right?

I think Randle is slightly better than him, thus the best player in that trade, plus loosing The Big Rangue will be huge for our shooting and spacing. AND WE THREW A FIRST ON TOP??????

So long as KAT hits his threes like he's shown he can do in his career. But he's been awful from 3PT land in preseason.

Its preseason, the guy is the best shooting big of all time, he is not all of a sudden not going to be able to shoot 3s

I know, I'm just nervous. You wonder if he's getting up there in age and slowing down. IDK. But it's not it's his knees. He barely gets any vertical on his jumpshot.

Never does, even when he posts up..
At some point he’s just more impactful off the bench.
I think the Knicks best five will ultimately be jb-deuce-bridges-OG-KAT
Deuce is simply a better 3 and D player than Hart and that’s what the starters need imo.
Payne will play but I’d love a Kolek-Hart-Dadiet-Precious bench
Little things like fjnding the open space to cut when his man goes to cut, crashing the boards because no one is putting a body on him, him pushing the pace off rebounds..
His 3 point shooting will be suspect but you cant just ignore him, you ignore him and you are asking for him to grab offensive boards..
It will be Brunson and KATs job to find him on those cuts..
“I’m lost. I have no idea,” Hart said. “There’s a couple days before we have until Boston. So whether that’s trying to get a rhythm with that starting unit or we give somebody else a look and my role changes and comes off the bench and go with that unit. So just trying to figure out right now I pretty much have no idea. But we’ll see what happens in Boston (in the season opener Tuesday).”
That was Hart after the game. Safe to say he doesn't feel like he's impacting the game with the starters.
He's not even rebounding at a high level. 12 rebounds in total across 4 games and 90 minutes.
It's preseason, moving parts, etc., but it's something to monitor
His best skill is probably his chaotic energy, which feels like a huge lift as the 6th man and less impactful as a starter.
Deuce meanwhile has his 10 3s in 3 preseason games and spaces the floor for Brunson and KAT to work their basically unstoppable two man game.
We'll see what happens but I think the move makes a ton of sense.
My concern is bridges right now. That hitch he has is rough and him talking about trying to fix his jumper is what worries me. He’s looked dreadful and we will see how fans handle him playing poorly if he starts the season as bad as he is currently. Given how we dealt 5 picks. Your gonna have alot of noise about how we should have kept Divo
That being said I’m still happy with the trade and know we need to be patient. But id be lying if I wasn’t a little bit surprised at the shooting from
Him so far.
At the end of the day, we're going to have to get consistent offensive output from guys who haven't shot well in the preseason. Bridges, OG and KAT all need to find their shots. Lots of room for improvement.
I have been encouraged by the Brunson-KAT game. Brunson has found KAT on a couple really nice cuts to the basket so that is promising.
The sky isn't falling, but there's still a lot of work to do to get to where I want the team to go.

The Brunson/KAT two man game is going to determine about 85% of the Knicks success this year. The remaining 15% will be if someone can figure out how to score against OG and Bridges.
If KAT shoots 40% from 3 on like 8 attempts per game and Brunson does Brunson things, the offense is going to be absurd.
