World Series!

Ron Darling trying to will Soto the Mets, sorry Ronnie - fuck all the way off.
This team is battle tested and ready to rumble in the WS
BH28 : 10/19/2024 11:51 pm : link
Can't ask for anything better than that. Really optimistic
This team is unbelievable!
Dave in Hoboken : 10/19/2024 11:52 pm : link
They always fight back and never say die!
YES!
Matt M. : 10/19/2024 11:52 pm : link
Rest up and bring on whoever.

This team is frustrating at times, but they don't stop fighting.
That was a grown man's AB by Soto!
Stu11 : 10/19/2024 11:53 pm : link
I don't think I've enjoyed anyone's ABs more than Soto since maybe Mattingly. He's an artist at the plate. He doesn't give away one pitch. On the the WS! Awesome wrapping it up tonight and have Come lined up for the opener.

Exactly right. I am glad I got to see him play in person a couple of times this year. He is a real joy to watch from warmups through the end of the game. He loves playing and has fun, but he is also a real competitor. That AB was special to watch.
Give Soto all the money.
bwitz : 10/19/2024 11:55 pm : link
Don’t let him go.

Down 1-2 and it felt like he was in control of that entire AB. That stare down was awesome
Love that they had to go through this grinder of a 3 games
Stu11 : 10/19/2024 11:56 pm : link
Toughened them up for what is sure to be their toughest challenge no matter who they face in the WS.
A ton of credit to Stanton, too.
Dave in Hoboken : 10/19/2024 11:58 pm : link
He's been our best postseason hitter thus far.

Hell Yeah, that AB for the HR was a beauty to watch. How it worked the pitcher and how it talked to himself and to the pitcher. It's an AB that EVERY player should watch.

If? IF? IF? It's going to be LA.
Can’t believe
GiantsMakeMeDrink : 10/20/2024 12:02 am : link
What they did to Cleveland’s bullpen this series. I take back any negative thing I have ever said about Stanton, he’s been a monster
No reason to bitch about that Stanton trade tonight.
St. Jimmy : 10/20/2024 12:02 am : link
Great job tonight with the bullpen by Boone.

After tonight, the Juan Soto negotiations should be rather straight forward
Hal looks a lot like George.
Mike from SI : 10/20/2024 12:03 am : link
Skinny George.
Torres was huge too.
Matt M. : 10/20/2024 12:03 am : link
His 2nd go 'round leading was a great move that really worked out. He had a great series.
Well done
section125 : 10/20/2024 12:04 am : link
They got it finished and the pen straightened up for this game.

Team effort all around.
STANTON ALCS MVP!
Dave in Hoboken : 10/20/2024 12:05 am : link
VERY well deserved!!
MVP could have been Soto also
Matt M. : 10/20/2024 12:05 am : link
He hit the shit out of the ball all series.

Stanton played little league ball in the park right across the street from me when I was living in Sherman Oaks.
One of the most deserved MVP’s ever.

Yeah, how do you differentiate. Both deserving. I guess Giancarlo just earned his $27 million dollars. Gosh, when he hits them, there isn't enough time to doubt..

Like the Daniel Jones supporters, they will never go away fully, just be in hiding for a while.
One thing Booney pushed all the right buttons tonight
Stu11 : 10/20/2024 12:22 am : link
Helps when your relievers come through for you. Obviously Weaver was great, but man did Leiter, Hill & Cousins get them a ton of big outs and a lot of swings and misses.
Congrats boys!! Epic way to end it
mfsd : 10/20/2024 12:25 am : link
Somewhat speechless with respect to Soto and Stanton. Yanks haven’t had these kind of postseason moments in a while. Either could have been MVP

Unsung hero was our bullpen. Theirs is great - ours was better in this series. Especially bouncing back after game 3.

Found myself getting nostalgic, I was 3 years old in 77, my old man used to talk about putting me to bed then watching that Series. Obviously got to enjoy many great Yankee wins with him in the years after

I tucked my 2 year old son in tonight, then settled in to watch the Yanks. Look forward to telling him about it one day
The next best thing
kcgiants : 10/20/2024 12:37 am : link
About winning tonight is that the Yankees can set up their SP for the World Series.

This. My kid, a 17 year old, has no memory of 2009 and will be in college next fall. So this has been one sweet ride for us.

Same here my daughter is 20 and son 16. I enjoy the games, but I've seen the Yanks win it 7 times. For my kids I want them to get to see this one. It's a blast watching it with them. My daughter is in college and we went down to visit her yesterday and today at Maryland for homecoming (I went there too) the homecoming game was an exciting 2 touchdown comeback in the 4th vs USC and we got to run on the field afterwards as a family and then got in the car and drove back to NY watching the Yanks on the phone. What a great family moment to share with them.
Still up watching highlights.
bceagle05 : 10/20/2024 3:34 am : link
Hope we finish this off with a world championship. I want Judge, Stanton and Cole to get their rings, along with many others including Boonie.
Same boat as some of you with my kids
Matt M. : 10/20/2024 3:48 am : link
My oldest is 20 and does remember them winning in 2009, but couldn't really watch. My other son was born the day before the 2009 ALCS was finished. He, obviously, has no recollection of that WS. He's really been into this post season and I've loved watching with him.
I’ll add my kid’s Yankee tale
Eman11 : 10/20/2024 6:59 am : link
He was 8 in 96, just getting into Little League and baseball when he got to see the Yanks win their first WS in his lifetime. Then had the great Dynasty during his formative years and after a couple of ticker tape parades, thought it was not only the Yanks but his birthright they win the WS every year.

I made sure he knew it wasn’t and I was twice his age when I got to see my first Yankee WS Championship. Thankfully he got it, has been a fan his whole life, and called me late last night after his shift to celebrate another Pennant with me.

Best of times for us Yankee dads and here’s to hoisting number 28!

looking forward to a Yankees WS.

Torres, Stanton and Volpe all took their game up a huge notch. We will need that to continue to get this done.

We shit on Yankees players who are under performing and it has been turning them around. BBI Yankees thread tradition.

So, yes hopefully we shit on Judge all week....
