Bleacher reported this morning and Rappaport also did.

JETS WAIVE $12 Million in fines and restructure his 2024 contract. Still working on a long term deal.

More drama in Florham Park.

I thought the fines accrued during holdouts could not be recouped? That’s why everyone has been so confused as to what Reddick was doing

The Fines could not be waived unless the player was on a Rookie contract. I’ve been searching the web looking for answers to this and have not been successful in doing so.

Jets pay fines and the fines count against the Jets cap, I believe
From the CBA

Quote:

(k) Club Discretion. Except as provided in Subsection (e), any attempt to seek or collect a forfeiture from a player shall be solely in the Club’s discretion, and any failure by a Club to seek a forfeiture from a player under this Section shall not be deemed a violation of any provision of this Agreement.

Article 4 (Player Contract), Section 9 (Forfeiture of Salary),Subsection (k), Page 15 of CBA

The Subsection (e) mentioned is for PEDs violations. And there is a separate CBA section for Commissioner discipline for fines for on field conduct.

Of course, if the player's salary is not forfeited, pursuant to the discretion allowed by the quoted Subsection (k), it will count against the club's cap.

He has to report by a certain point or he can’t hit free agency , so this was a win for him.

just one of the many wondrous factors why NFLPA backed the deal
