(I didn't read all the posts) but, when the Eagles coaching staff read that the Giants lead the league in sacks .... they said "okay - stop the run(?)"
He justified not signing Barkley to put resources into improving the O-line. It looks terrible for him today. I did agree with the decision though, but it doesn't look good for him right now.
I'm glad Schoen saved the $2M per year on Barkely so he could gift it to no-show Burns. At least Barkley can experience some real success in his career. He'll be remembered as an Eagle.
Team has been awful. We knew Barkley would come in and try to prove himself, but this is ridiculous now. Defense seems like it’s just giving up now. 0 passing TDs at home this year OMFG! After 4 games

I have said this before, Mara's real job is marketing. He will never admit it, but that is his primary concern with winning a close second.
If there is a chance to sell hope with the current structure, then that is what he would prefer to do. If he feels he is losing the ability to sell, then he will make a change that will dupe the fans into believing again.
for AT, the Giants haven't drafted a good OL for 10 years. And AT is hurt all the time. Other teams fix their OL in a year or two. We couldn't fix ours in a decade.
