There are many reasons so let's have fun with this. I wouldn't say this is the most important, but I am beyond frustrated with us running RPOs. How many illegal man downfield penalties have we had the last two weeks? What's the definition of insanity again?
2. The missed draft picks, especially in premium picks
3. The lack of care for the fans
4. The HORRENDOUSLY bland offense
5. That they're consistently the bitches of the Eagles and Cowboys
6. The blind loyalty to certain players and personnel
7. Taking Daniel Jones 6th overall
8. That we rarely play competitive football
2. Letting a mediocre QB fire perhaps 4 HCs and 2 GMs.
3. Jettisoning a D coordinator who forced opponents into turnovers.
4. Lack of WRs who can make contested catches, when every other team has at least 2.
5. Running a YAC based passing game but never having any receivers who are good at that.
6. Absolute abandonment regarding use of the TE position.
7. Only 3 defenders on the roster who can be considered as above average run stoppers.
8. Injuries destroy us every year.
9. Slow starts every game and season.
10. Most of all, I hate watching other NFL games because it looks like a different sport than we play in terms of physicality and intensity.

1) This team is soft- soft tacklers, soft mentally, soft results and soft fortitude!
2) We have become a joke, a national joke to the point where our last SB victory seems so long ago, so forgotten.
3) The fact that we have been underdogs for 23 consecutive games is actually less surprising than the fact that we have come up even smaller than the low expectations most have for this team.
4) Daniel Jones- still starting for this team even after his first three years and then leading into 2022 not looking like he was going to be here long and then his best year (15 td passes) turns into a 160 million dollar albatross. Now, 6 home games later ( 2 last year and 4 this year) Jones has 0 TD passes and averages 5.8 pts per game..
5) We are fucking boring, boring. This team is the excitement equivalent of the Pro Bowl but lacking the physical, competitive play of the Pro Bowl.
6) Hard Knocks opened the door to some behind the scenes stuff that still leaves one wondering what were we missing- who really signed off on Jones deal, how much of this is Mara's doing and is Daboll closer to the guy Wink hinted at or is it being saddled to Jones???
7) What is the answer for now to have the way to the future? Right now I see NOTHING that says the Giants ownership and management have any clue what they are doing to right this ship overall. Just pushing Jones back out there week after week is embarrassing- even if he is better than the other two because I have seen nothing from Jones that says he should be out there. In fact, his losing play, his loser feeling and persona has seemed so deeply into this organization that every day he is still playing is a week or month more to the grime that will need to be cleaned away here..
8) I am tired of losing to teams who aren't that great- Philly wasn't anything special today, Dallas is not good, the Bengals were bottom of the league defensively, Washington couldn't score a TD and yet we lost to each one of these teams. We are now to the point where even I think winning is actually going to be counter productive. That is not good!!!
So much more I could say but Fuck It, this team sucks so badly right now..
Do you know what would make me really happy in the short run? No fans showing up for home games.
5) We are fucking boring, boring. This team is the excitement equivalent of the Pro Bowl but lacking the physical, competitive play of the Pro Bowl.
This is so true, especially when you look around the league and you see teams with talented players doing exciting things and winning.
Throw away your Melatonin. If you are having problems sleeping, watch replays of our games.
New coach, new qb, new GM, same old shit.
Eli is gone. They still suck. OBJ is gone. They still suck. McAdoo is gone. They still suck. Judge is gone. They still suck. Barkley is gone. They still suck. Engram is gone. They still suck.
They're all different players, but it all looks like the same lump of garbage every single game. I feel as if I've been watching the same game every week for the past 12 years.
When the fuck is this going to END?
Too many years of irrelevant football at the end of the season. I fucking HATE irrelevant loser garbage games at the end of the season. Fuck off with that shit.
Away fans in the stadium dancing the day away at MetLife. So pathetic.
2. Stupid idiotic fans (yes I count myself) that show up to these games
3. Dick sucking media that never ask tough questions
4. The Mara’s
5. Oh did mention the Fans?
By that I specifically mean that such little long term progress has been made. I feel the Giants are actually more likely to devolve soon than improve if players like Lawrence decide they've had enough of playing on a joke of a team.
It feels like it's going to take so many years to turn this team around.
31 other teams trying to draft and sign good players to try and win football games, but the Giants want guys who are smart, tough and dependable? Whoa, we really cracked the code!
And as a footnote, well into season 3 of this regime, and I don’t see anything smart, tough or dependable about this team and org
Sure we have had coaching issues, the QB situation, the OL, etc. However, it is always something with this team and in my opinion, it stems from the very top.
Accepting losing and using "seeing improvement" as the compensating factor and reason for believeing it will be different next year.
Just step back and away from the Jones situation. He is the result and not the problem.
They drafted him 6th overall when the discussion throughout the entire process was “is this borderline 1st rounder worth the 17th pick?”, pretty much all the draft gurus including our very own Sy didn’t think he was a Top 20 type prospect let alone near Top 5.
I hated then how I could see Jones as a Giant coming from a mile away. I said this is what upset me the most on the post-pick thread then. It was so predictable and “Giants-like” in my mind even then. They made their decision a long time prior to the draft despite the significant majority of people disagreeing with their thinking.
- Won 1 playoff game in 6 years
- In 66 starts, a 24-41-1 record
- 81 total TDs and 68 Turnovers in career (INTs + Lost Fumbles)
- 18th/31st/31st/15th/30th/31st in points scored each year
- Bad offenses despite 4 different OCs and different casts
And yet despite all this evidence showing how thoroughly mediocre at best he is, the FO has decided that 1 playoff win makes up for all of this to the tune of a $160M contract. We also have Daboll saying “we’re sticking with him” despite risking a $25M injury guarantee by playing him despite him proving to be injury prone and us losing the best OLineman we have on this team by 10 miles.
It’s an embarrassment that this team can’t admit they were wrong on Jones. They weren’t just wrong on giving him a massive 2nd contract. They weren’t just wrong on drafting him 6th when most thought he was a borderline 1st rounder. They were wrong ever since they fell in love with him through the Cutcliffe connection over a year before he was drafted.
The team has a lot of issues but all the excuses made in order to try to “prove” that they were smart/right about Jones shows how inmature and emotional this ownership is.
Jones is a likable guy. I respect his professionalism and personality. But until we have a new QB, this team won’t go anywhere.

Yup Mara virtually parachuting onto an aircraft carrier and declaring mission accomplished after one wild card win 2 years ago looks pretty sad in hindsight.
We compete for a wild card once every few years. Yay!
Daboll, I can't listen to him anymore. He has got to go.

So incredibly well said. And it's why the deck needs to be wiped clean. Schoen, Daboll & Jones need to all go.
Nobody is telling you to watch.
+1. That says it all.
With seemingly no end in sight either.
Going nowhere.
I agree, and the coaching issues go beyond the revolving door of head coaching failures IMO. It stood out to me with both Shurmur and Judge. We know Shurmur was a fall back option, we were later in the game that hiring cycle, and he didn’t really have a bunch of high quality loyalists ready to join his staff. He essentially hired a bunch of guys at random
Then Judge talked a big game and hired a bunch of college coaches under the guise of teaching, next thing you know he’s brawling with his OL coach in the hallway
Even with Daboll, who I’ve always liked - 2 years into his tenure his DC is leaving under weird circumstances and stabbing everyone he can in the back through the media
I mean, what the fuck is going on internally?
2024 Giants play low IQ football, repeating dumb mistakes, zero attention to detail, etc.
Bad football teams attract more bad luck.
Too many chefs in the football ops soup, including too many Mara family members.
HK confirmed many of the pessimist crowd fears.
the 2022 playoff win, set this team back 3-4 years.
Also Barkley's agent seriously misjudged the RB market. It would have been great to sign Barkley and tag Jones.
Schoen is and was under no illusions about the state of the team, and the QB. It looks like Daboll will be thrown under the bus at the end of the season.
If it's not Gettleman, it's Daniel Jones. If it's not Jones, it's something else. Shitty GMs, shitty coaches, awful rosters for years on end.
Oh, and the single worst stadium in US pro sports.
Well said. As some of the more vocal posters have said here multiple times, we all know Jones wasn’t cuttable this past offseason, with something like a $60 million dead cap hit
But not bringing in real competition at QB was criminal
Quote:
Good post. What about that Drew Lock press conference set up so he could publicly admit he wasn’t competing for the starting job? Who came up with that idea? How in the name of holy heck was it then approved?

I need an explanation for going into this season with a depth chart of Jones-Lock-DeVito. Some reporter has to press Schoen on this at his midseason presser.
3. DJ
4+. DJ
I am now in the new club of believing that if we get a "legitimate NFL QB" this team could turn around rather quickly, like Wash, Buff, and numerous other examples. If your QB sucks you are going no where
One minute he's a player's coach and he's calling things aggressively.
Next thing you know he's offering coach-speak and making CYA decisions (appearances of that) and kicking a meaningless FG on third down with 9 seconds left - plenty of time to take one shot in the end zone.
Seattle game the Giants actually looked halfway decent. And they've looked so putrid most other weeks.
Also, and tied to the inconsistency, the Giants win the game against the juggernaut <<<eyeroll>>> Commanders because there was no backup plan when the kicker was injured. Not that THAT is the main thing ... just an indicator of underlying issues in this coaching regime.
So many personnel decisions and signings have been made to "help" DJ or give him a "fair" shake. Screw that, an adage is that a good quarterback makes those around him better, we have gone totally ass-backwards about this and organizationally rationalized that we need to have other players make the QB better.

You are 100% about the idiotic fan part. I went to this game and totally forgot we have some annoying weirdos in our fan base.
