Highlights of the full slate of games:
MTL vs NYR. Obviously MTL is decimated by injury already. we're two weeks in. But they are not great anyway. Good test for the young Habs against a veteran NYR team who has yet to lose in regulation.
NYI vs DET (no Duclair for NYI)
NJD vs TBL (I doubt Vasilevskiy gets the start, he hasn't been able to stop a beach ball lately)
ANA vs SJS (SJS has yet to win this year)
CAL vs PIT (CAL has yet to lose in regulation this year)
UTA vs OTT (UTA a surprising 4 -1- 1 on the season)
CBJ vs TOR
FLA vs MIN (MIN has yet to lose in regulation this season)
STL vs WIN (WIN puts their perfect 5-0-0 record on the line)
NSH vs BOS (NSH puts their perfect 0-5-0 record on the line)
that 9 round shootout with MTL was pretty awesome though. I wish they made it like juniors, once you have 5 (?) shooters go you can repeat the shooters. players like Troy Terry and TJ Oshie would be more valuable.

Maybe they decide the game in regulation, just to change thing up.

For me it was more relief than celebration when they finally won it. I was so pissed after Varly gave up those 2 goals (to rookies!) after Palmieri & Holmstrom scored.
But they got the two points instead of the one they usually get.
it's expected at this point the NHL just does not want to grow the game.
I would have advertised the hell out of the 4 nations face off already AND I would have made a women's bracket at the same time as the men's. maybe even a skills competition. Some say Kendall Coyne could beat some men in fastest skater (I doubt it if it mattered but she did well when she filled in for MacKinnon at the AS game and was 7th out of 8 skaters). Women's hockey is fun especially USA vs Canada games.
I have 10 forwards, start 6 and bench 4.
Starting
Auston Matthews @ CBJ
Brady Tkachuk @ Utah
Connor Bedard vs Vancouver
Tage Thompson vs Dallas
Ross Colton @ Sea
Cole Caufield vs NYR
Benched
Kevin Fiala @ VGK
Matt Boldy @Fla
Mark Stone vs LA
Alexis Lafreniere @MTL
Would you make any changes?

this stuff is so hard to predict, but I'd play Boldy over Colton (I mean that magic has to wear off, right?) and if he plays, Lafreniere over Thompson, if not leave Tage in).
Tkachuk back for FLA. Barkov soon too.
EDM gives up 2 3rd period goals and loses in OT.
OTT cools off UTA
CAL tied up PIT in the final min and prevails in the SO to get the xp.
NYR, MIN, and CAL remain unbeaten in regulation.
I benched Caufield and Fiala. Wasn't expecting Matthews to do nothing but cardio out there last night.

I always like players who are on their teams PPs on teams who draw a lot of penalties if i had to pick between two players. MIN doesn't draw many PP's, but Boldy is becoming dominant anyway.
recap: Saturday vs UTA Marchand turns the puck over at the blue line for no good reason, play goes the other way and UTA with the odd man rush has a player bang home the rebound for a goal.
They showed Montgomery on the bench screaming at Marchand and nudge Marchand's shoulder.
(the goal was overturned for UTA offsides, but...)
media meltdown....Marchand comments on it (partial):
I love this answer. and he expanded on it.
