In today's media offering covering the Colorado Buffaloes, Well Off Media run by Deion Sanders Jr., showed a few members of the Giants contingent stopping by to monitor practice.
Shedeur has risen to QB1 on many scouting boards in the past couple of weeks as the Buffs have played quite well while Travis Hunter has dealt with a shoulder injury.
I mentioned a few weeks back that the biggest two knocks I have on Shedeur are his proclivity to extend plays too much (and backwards!), leading to sacks, and his tendency to check out of run plays. There's been noticeable improvement in the latter, with the Buffs showing a more sustained commitment to the run game even when it's not producing chunk plays. Unsurprisingly, this has made the pass pro appear more solid as defenders cannot pin their ears back each play.
I know it's trendy around these parts to say that the Giants wouldn't have Deion's son on their draft board but I suspect that professional personnel executives feel differently regarding a player that has grown up in the shadows of NFL greats

Clown? Have you watched him play football?
You don't like him, because he has a personality or something?
I'm sure both he and his dad know the value of marketing/exposure playing in the NY market (era of social media) or not.
I only usually pray for sick kids, people who lose loved ones, and peace, but I'll make an exception and I pray to god the Giants draft "this clown".
don't let the door hit you on the ass pretentious jackass.

for one reason, no way Sanders (daddy) wants his kid with the Gmen...

Yeah, I don't buy that statement. The Giants may not want him, but the Sanders family wouldn't turn down the Giants and New York. No way.
Shedeur can play. I have my doubts as to how high his ceiling is, but I believe at the least he'll be a solid NFL starter. Hardly a clown.

He's incredibly tough with a good chin. I watched pieces of a lot of their games last year, and his OL should have been arrested for attempted manslaughter. Yet, Sanders always hung in there and made some incredible throws under pressure (he also made poor decisions in those circumstances by trying to make plays instead of just taking a loss to live for another down).
Their OL has been a bit better this year and Sanders is playing even better.
I like his pocket passer skills, but the Deion's athleticism gene skipped Shadeur. He's an average athlete at best and he doesn't have much speed. IMV, that hurts his lottery potential.
This. And to clarify, I don't think Schoen and Daboll would have any problem drafting him - Mara would be the one pulling him off the board.
We'd look at Travis Hunter, though.

Quit blaming his OL and instead start asking why they were able to block slightly better for the other QB and why everyone who leaves that program hates him and his old man.

To be fair, the idea of a clown playing quarterback does have an appeal for me right now.

I get some of the reluctance based on the way Deion rolled into Colorado. It was a big splash. And Deion wanted to get Colorado back on the map to generate transfer interest.
Despite all of that, Shadeur keeps going on the field and producing really good results. So, you can't fake that. And he's a tough kid. He's going to be worth a long look, but I'm not sure he's got a big enough toolbox to be a lottery pick.

Amen!🙏
The special tools that will make or break his success are anticipation and the intermediate-to-deep ball with some good off-schedule moxie. Shedeur isn’t nearly the athlete of his father(a step down from DJ in this regard) but he can rumble given an opening.
I think his upside is something along the lines of Joe Burrow whereas the downside is closer to Jameis Winston.
bw, I genuinely respect your football acumen so I don’t mean to challenge you but gentleman’s bet that Shedeur winds up a top 10 pick. Keep in mind that the Buffs have traversed the hardest portion of their regular season schedule and the “Prime for COTY” drum will beat from the talking heads as CU inches to a bowl game (which is a rarity in Boulder)
I think Cam and Shedeur are the cream of this crop.

Things would go well, absolutely. Players in college, with a posse, always seem to work out well. But, I’m the jackass.

If they think they can turn Shedeur into a Josh Allen type, I'll take whatever "circus" comes with him.

Posse? I think the jackass might be you.
and he's been great.
Talent is there.....Mara won't draft him.

He is terrible, he will never be an NFL caliber qb.
All due respect, there is almost nobody on this board with less credibility in evaluating QB play than you. The fact that you don’t like him is the most appealing thing about him for me.
Don't blame Deon.
I predict you will take ONE week off.. then you will be back
Don't blame Deon.
Archie, Peyton and Tom Condon didn't want Eli to go to San Diego in 2004.
Why not? You've got a chance to be a legend here. They are fame seekers. And most people seem to think the Giants problem is DJ.
LOL
Just like last year when they were meeting with QBs on Easter Sunday only to pass them up for a WR.
I know Brown technically has a hand in this mess, but I'm always impressed when I hear him articulate his thoughts.
I would not be mad about a Vrabel hire at HC paired with Brown getting the GM seat.
Just because our current quarterback is an empty suit doesn't mean the Giants wouldn't want a player with some level of charisma.
Athletics is such a short time in your life.

I think this is a distinct possibility (Brown/Vrabel) right now. Brown would maintain the continuity in the front office and can add to Schoen’s genuine organization building. Vrabel would retain Bowen, who has been the best performer on the coaching staff, with their vast history. Yet there’s accountability for Schoen’s mistakes.
I’m not necessary endorsing this move but boy it seems like a John Mara thing to do.
?? They should be doing this.
I’m all for Sanders on the Giants, if the scouting checks out. He’s vocal and a leader and that’s what this franchise needs.

Because he’s made a number of headline boneheaded decisions. But I give him full credit for bringing on quality staff.

holy shit. Some of you deserve this shit.
You will literally bitch about anything. Crying about the GM and scouts being out…scouting is a new level even for you. Impressive!
I'm the exact opposite. Pass on this guy for reasons not related to actual football skill and I will lose my shit.
The Giants need to stop operating as if the media and fan base can hurt them. Just draft good or great fucking players. The only thing hurting NYG is the shitty players they bring in.
Seriously? The Giants send their assistant GM to (presumably) scout a top QB prospect and you're giving the team flack for that?
My guess is that if the Giants did NOT send Brown (or Schoen) to scout the top QB prospects, you'd be bitching about them not doing their jobs. Either way you "win".
Kill them for many things, but scouting? Cmon. WTF is the GM supposed to do right now? Hold a pep rally at met life?
You won't agree and you will hate this take because it's one that carries nuance, but it's not a stretch to say in many cases the good and bad teams of the NFL are separated by very very little. One good coach here one great player there --the wrong mix here the wrong QB there---and shit just snowballs. It's hard to sustain winning when you're bad and it easier to stay good when you're good.
I know I know...we suck forever and will suck forever got it ty
