They are simply ramping him up for the regular season? LOL
Am I the only one who thinks this is bizarre move by the Sixers?
WTF, is this the new normal? Holding out guys until they are ready for......well not the season opener, but just ready to play.....
I'd be pretty pissed as a fan.
So it starts PG and Embiid out for game 1, "just trust the process"
They are dojng everything they can to just have him for the playoffs
They're not being forthcoming about the injury, is the controversy. The league is trying to cut down on 'load management'.
The sixers aren't saying he has an injury, and there's no official injury designation, but it's Embiid. He'll never be 100% again.
Probably shouldn't have played in the Olympics.

And risk further injury. I don’t understand the controversy here

Ok, I didn’t realize they were hiding it, thanks
Hellva talent. Seems like a good dude. But his playoff resume leaves a lot to be desired.
The person who gets played is the dad who can bring his boy to one game a year and, Brunson is in Versace on the bench.
The NBA has a pretty smart union. And they take advantage of some pretty dumb owners who pay out these exorbitant guaranteed contracts despite screwing their fans along the way...
LeBron/Curry/Durant headlining this Olympics team was so fun to watch. LeBron being the deserved tournament MVP as a 1 of 1 athlete. Curry waking up from an awful Olympics to put the finishing touches on it all with his legendary shooting. Durant being the “1 bucket necessary” option who killed Serbia in that epic game.
But with all due respect to Harden who was a regular season monster, Kawhi is the 4th best player from this era. I was so sad we couldn’t see him play alongside the other 3 all-timers from this era.
Active Minutes Played
1. LeBron: 68,490 (most ever and still a freak)
3. Durant: 45,865 (capable of scoring until 67 years old)
9. Curry: 38,215 (One of a kind athlete/shooter)
34. Kawhi: 27,032 (Beastmode 2-way player)
99. Embiid: 15,916 (Unreal skill-set for a big)
100. Luka: 15,891 (Next Legend up)
Luka was drafted 4 years later than Embiid and he’s going to pass him in total playoffs + RS minutes played in his next game most likely. Embiid has won 5 playoff series, Luka has won 5.
The run-jump nature of the NBA with such fragile freaks when it comes to the lower body just means there will always be guys like Kawh/Embiid who can’t stay healthy. Atleast Kawhi had some legendary playoff runs, including ending the best team Embiid ever played for. Really hoping Embiid puts one together so he isn’t just a footnote in history.
Yep, as it should.
But peak Kawhi was special. Sad his career has been like this.
I might take Peak Kawhi over Peak KD. KD being a better scorer probably doesn’t make up for Kawhi being almost as good there at his best and one of the best perimeter defenders ever.

Kawhi is great, but he misses a ton of time every year. That's going to be a huge part of his NBA legacy.

He is a different kinda fella...he just marches to a different drummer..
His issue has to do with motivation more than anything...
But as a 2 way player in his prime..man oh man!!
