Plus Nabers is the only legit good pick, and that was a sure thing. You couldn't make a mistake with that pick. Phillip is pretty good but nothing real special yet. Nubin has not been that good imo. Makes a lot of mistakes. Theo looks like he has potential. Tracy looks pretty good, but time will only tell if he can be a true starter.
These players have only had 7 games and they are only 6 players
surrounded by the same old lousy players. You can't expect them to start winning overnight, and you can't just say dump them because we are not winning. You have to start building the team sometime, and these are talented young, cheaper guys.

I agree with you. I'm just talking about Schoen's draft overall.
If your roster sucks the rookies are going to play a lot. And the rookies are playing so well that the Giants are 2-5 and can barely score two touchdowns a game.
How do we keep falling for this garbage?
RE: So far it does look like a very good draft class. Nabers, Nubin,
Phillips, Theo and Tracy are either starters or well on their way to winning starting jobs.
I know special teams isn't "sexy", but Muasau knew the new ST coordinator from college. He is playing nearly every ST snap already. He with Cam Brown and Carter Coughlin doing their time they had to be replaced too, which is about all you can expect from a 6th. Seems like a fine use of a very late pick if he just capably fills that role for four years.

Nubin - check out Sy’s comments in the Eagles review. He’s a decent starter in his 2nd month of starting.
Phillips - He’s caught my eye but more importantly check out Sy’s rave. He wrote Phillips was maybe the best defensive player on the field v Philly. 3rd rounders are good picks if they can stay in the NFL for a few seasons. Looks like a very successful pick.
The 4th round pick is starting, the 5th round pick is generating excitement and the 6th rounder may supplant the starter in the future.
I know the Eagles loss was soul chilling but I really think people need to sit back and exercise some patience.
And I continue to think a small cadre of people in the football leadership are soft tanking. We are poised to be the Texans v2. Just need to get the Qb pick right.
Obviously Nabers is extraordinarily talented but I dont know about popping champagne over hitting on the 6 pick in a loaded draft
The rest of these guys we shall see. We have had a few guys already in Schoens draft classes that flashed early and then got worse over time. People were once very excited over WanDale, Bellinger, Banks, Hawkins, Hyatt & JMS to name a few
Tracy had a great first game but has 23 carries for 73 yards the last 2 games combined at 3.17 ypc.
and its hard to argue against that. I think why this draft was so much better than the previous two is a good question to ask. Was it luck? Or did Schoen just have so much cleaning up to do in the scouting departments and personnel evaluation departments that it took two seasons to correct?
It looks like Schoen picked some good players this year
I wonder what our rating would be if the Patriots took our offer to trade up for Maye so you removed Nabers and Nubin from the equation and Maye was sitting (which you know he would be)?
Schoen picked some good players this year. He just didn't address the one position that is almost single handedly ending yet another season before Halloween.

You do know they're rookies, right?
That means this is their first season of professional football.

Good question. It's impossible to tell at this point.
Giants should be starting McCarthy or Penix right now and looking to draft for a WR . Instead they will look to trade up next year for a QB that is not as good as McCarthy or Penix. The only way out is to sign a veteran QB .

How can you possibly know that there won't be a qb better than McCarthy or Penix?

Need the QB situation fixed for that to happen, which you 100% know and are on board with.
Dink Dunk Danny needs to leave town.
But good for us on the #1 ranking.
Solid draft and we know you can't admit that. Yes wins haven't happened but that is a team thing not a single player issue
Happy that we found 5 players in draft class
Agree.

Yeah, that's our Forum for ya!

My point seems pretty clear. You know you have good/right players when the team wins more than they lose.
Have we seen some good signs with this class? Absolutely. But the real dividend is how that creates wins.

How dare you talk common sense! Great post!
