With some good prospects and very little consensus on how they rank. Not even consensus on tiers. That was a very interesting draft with a lot of lessons to be learned.
He d sad suffered a thumb injury in last week’s blow out win
He appears to have all the tools to be a NFL QB
He may become a surprise riser in this year’s QB class
I can see it. Milroe looks ideal if you are running an offense like Kliff Kingsbury is with Daniels. Ward I have higher, but I think he needs to sit for 2025 if you draft him and not everyone is willing to do that. Sanders you have his father and also the smoke about him calling audibles when Pat Shurmur calls for a run.
I've seen other analysts put their top QBs late 1st round, and most were 2nd day picks, including the top rated coming into the season (which I agree with at this stage, there's no QB knocking me out).
and possibly Allar depending upon how much time the Giants are going to give the young QB to adapt. I have liked what I see on the field from Sanders but it just seems certain to bring a circus to town. Milroe has struggled lately. What I like about Ward is the versatility in terms of the ability to through with different arm angles. NOt certain how strong his arm is but if strength is the goal it should be Nussmeier or Allar.
clue what round he's supposed to go but I think Billy Edwards Jr. could be a major sleeper. Good size, considered a true "leader" type. On the season 13 td's, 4 interceptions, 70.1% completion %. Slightly funky throwing motion but I think he's one to follow (some highlights vs. USC below) Link - ( New Window )
He has his worts, but he’s 6’5 240, and only 20 years old. Just google his highlights for this year! That USC game showed he can battle through adversity A player some say is similar to Josh Allen… hmmmm, think Schoen and Dabs won’t want a “Josh Allen” type potential savior for their jobs and our fandom?
He has a LONG way to go before he’s Allen quality, but go look at a some old Wyoming games… Josh has come a long way… why can’t Drew?
While he isn’t JA..He has a Josh Allen type arm (not the runner Josh is tho), and he’s gonna need to sit for a year… but if you ask me who has the most upside? In 10 years we’ll look back and Drew Allar will be one of the top QB’s for a team IMO. I want it to be for the NYG… I think it’s realistic we could get him too… if we stay at this level of suck. Can Ward will be first QB off the board, and Sanders should go next, then maybe Beck, or Ewers/Nussmeier?
Allar might stay in school another year, and frankly he could use the development… but then he’s picking a much stronger draft class if he stays at Penn State next year..
I think he declares this year and will be a top 15 pick, hopefully to us haha✌️
Edwards is very interesting.
He has an amazingly fast reactions.
His set and release are as quick as any QB I have seen.
I really like QBs who have unique skill sets.
He appears smaller than his listed 6'-3" and in places 6'-4" 220lbs.
He is very athletic, can run, throws on a line and with touch. He was timed at 4.52 coming out of HS.
He has good enough arm strength to throw the deep outs and can air it out to 45 -50 yards.
He was highly touted coming out of high school, but never got an opportunity at Wake Forest.
As a redshirt junior Billy has accomplished

I keep looking for sleepers who piques my interest and I will continue to watch Billy this season.
but he's got a ton to learn and demonstrate on gamedays. USC game was certainly encouraging. It's the mental aspects and making sound decisions needing improvement and maturity. He might need another year at PSU.

He does have some JA in his game.
He needs to get the hell out of Happy Valley and go to a program that can further develop him.

It wouldn't hurt. Not alot of hope in the 2025 QB class yet for me.
Not as bad as 2022
Not as good as 2024
Somewhere in between with time left in college football season to analyze these QB’s mentioned in thread.
For sure a lot of these QB’s will be overdrafted.

Kotelnicki was a great hire as the new OC for PSU. He's running some very creative stuff to give Allar high-end, efficient throws. But he's not - yet - in the class of a Riley, Day, Kiffin, Longo, etc.
Long way to go to see how the 2025 plays out. I'm into three guys - Nuss, Milroe and Rourke.

His set and release is so fast that it makes me think his target is determined pre-snap. It's possible that he just has incredible processing speed, which would be very appealing. But a lot of the plays I saw on the highlight reel posted in this thread look like snap, turn, throw - no read.
You have to watch the UVA game and the Villanova game you will see the quick release even on broken plays. He constantly found his second or third reads.
He has this weird sidearm motion but the ball comes out fast.
He has the ability to buy time in the pocket and pressure does not seem to affect him.
He is fearless when he runs which will not play well in the NFL.
I am tempering my enthusiasm until I see him play against a really good defense. Maryland has a very tough schedule. They play Oregon and PSU. Lets see how he does against the big boys.
Will like the aggressiveness of Cam Ward. Like Mahomes early on he makes a lot of really silly mistakes including bad turnovers. His turnover worthy play rate is still concerning.
I'm with Sy and Brugler, I'm really warming to Nussmeier. Good point made by him that he's only played 8 games, he still has room to improve.

I'm not saying for sure that they won't draft one, but none of these guys is going to make them fall in full bloom love.
Maybe they move up (trade with Patriots) to get "their" guy if they think it necessary.
I'm not saying for sure that they won't draft one, but none of these guys is going to make them fall in full bloom love.
Classic Giants move is to over draft Allar or even Beck for that matter.

Wrong. Classic Giants move is to not draft any QB....

My prayer is we do indeed get the right QB. Even if he is the 3rd QB off the board so long as he is a franchise QB I'd be ecstatic.
